Basileus BTi Iron Shaft
The Basileus BTi Iron Shaft introduces a fresh take with its FlatFlex design, offering consistent flex across all iron numbers in a carbon shaft. It's engineered to achieve a significant amount of flex in the handle combined with high rigidity in the tip—a balance not typically seen in conventional iron shaft designs.
This shaft aims to make a mark in the heavy carbon iron shaft market. It faithfully embodies the fundamental performance attributes that athletic golfers seek in a carbon shaft. The BTi strives to be a top-tier tool for golfers aiming to realize their ideal performance.
Concept
Classified as a "D" type on the AB map (based on UT/Iron standards), the BTi maintains this characteristic for most irons. However, the AW/SW shaft (#11) is specifically designed closer to a "B" type to eliminate unnecessary movement, aiding in precise short approaches. The shaft combines a highly rigid tip, which supports a powerful impact, with a low-torque design that enhances control.
With a C/B value (handle flex indicator) of 0.58 and a T/C value (tip flex indicator) of 0.76 (for the S100-#7), the design emphasizes handle flex. This aims for a highly controllable iron shaft, ideal for pinpoint targeting. Despite keywords like "rigid tip" and "handle flex," extensive adjustments to the overall flex values allow for an automatic high launch. This shaft is designed to precisely reflect the golfer's intentions.
The BTi's greatest feature is its consistent flex value across all club numbers. From long irons to short irons, it aims to provide a uniform flex feel, supporting iron shots where stability and accuracy are crucial. For long irons, the combination of handle flex and tip rigidity contributes to a mid-trajectory. For short irons, the FlatFlex design truly shines. While typical "flex-flow" shafts with a rigid tip and handle flex often result in mid-to-low trajectories, the FlatFlex design makes it easier to achieve a high launch. This automatic trajectory flow is arguably the biggest benefit of FlatFlex.
In terms of swing type, it's suited for technical hitters who control with wrist work, and it broadly targets golfers currently using steel shafts weighing around 90g to 120g.
Features
-
FlatFlex design across all club numbers provides a consistent swing feel.
-
Low-torque design achieved through a double-bias structure.
-
Designed with a highly rigid tip and an emphasis on handle flex.
-
Offers a smooth flex that is unexpected for a 100g-class shaft.
-
Automatically adjusts trajectory: mid-trajectory for long irons and high-trajectory for short irons.
-
Features a solid-state design, evoking the appearance of being machined from metal.
Please note: When testing, we recommend trying long, middle, and short irons to experience the consistent performance and features. Handle the product with care.
