Yamaha RMX DD-1 Iron: Blending Feel, Distance, and Forgiveness
The Yamaha RMX DD-1 Iron is the best of both worlds, taking the soft feel and precision of a classic athlete's iron and mixing it with the distance and forgiveness modern average golfers need. It's a forged soft-iron designed to meet high standards for feel, distance, and forgiveness all at once.
Purity of Feel
This iron delivers an exquisite feel thanks to two key features. First, the body is made from soft-forged iron. Second, it includes a special dampening resin control badge designed to reduce the lingering sound of impact. By shortening the sound's resonance, the badge enhances the soft, delicate sensation that travels to the golfer's hands.
Consistent Ball Flight
The DD-1 is built around a center-of-gravity (CG) design that stabilizes ball flight. By optimizing the CG placement to perfectly align with the typical impact point on the face, the iron minimizes twisting. The soft-iron body is precisely shaped and milled for each club number, achieving an ideal CG that ensures a stable, reliable launch with every shot.
Precise Yardage Gaps
Achieving accurate yardage gaps is critical, and the DD-1 handles this through club-specific face thickness. The back of the face is meticulously milled to have different thicknesses tailored to the role of each iron:
-
Long Irons are designed for higher ball speed and a higher trajectory.
-
Middle Irons offer increased forgiveness on miss-hits, ensuring you can accurately find the green.
Smooth Turf Interaction
The V-shaped sole ensures exceptional turf interaction and smooth swing-through. Designed to resist digging in or bouncing hard, the DD-1 (and DD-1 Tour Model) features a high-performance sole. With 20 degrees of bounce to prevent sticking and a rear shape that minimizes contact area after impact, golfers can swing smoothly and consistently from any lie.
The RMX DD-1 Iron is for the golfer who doesn't want to compromise—delivering a buttery feel with the stability and distance needed for scoring.
