The Dolphin Flying Wedge DFW-225 is designed to take the guesswork out of the short pitch shot. With a loft of 55 degrees, this club is built to lift the ball gently over obstacles—such as bunkers or the edge of an elevated green—before landing it softly and letting it roll out toward the pin. It serves as a practical alternative for players who find a standard sand wedge inconsistent for delicate "up-and-down" situations.

Central to its performance is the "Quad Sole X," a sole design shared with Kasco’s standard wedges. This configuration allows the club to sit naturally on various slopes and prevents the head from bouncing abruptly off hard surfaces or digging into soft turf. To further aid contact, the leading edge is thickened, which acts as a safeguard against chunking, helping the club slide through the impact zone even if the strike isn't perfect.

The DFW-225 also features a "Shankless Neck," where the hosel is positioned further back to expose more of the face near the heel, reducing the risk of shanking. The head is significantly heavier than a standard wedge, encouraging a slower, more rhythmic pendulum stroke that uses the club’s momentum to cut through grass. Additionally, the face profile is taller than a typical chipper, ensuring that the club strikes the ball cleanly even when it is sitting high in the rough, rather than slipping underneath it.
