The XXIO 14+ Iron is designed for the golfer who has a stronger, faster swing and seeks distance, a clean look at address, and a satisfying feel. This model shifts away from the gentle look of the standard XXIO 14 toward a sharper, more player-focused profile while still retaining the brand's signature forgiveness.
This iron utilizes a multi-material construction and structural rigidity to maximize ball speed and stabilize the shot:
Soft Stainless Steel Body & New Cavity Structure: The body is crafted from soft stainless steel, contributing to a pleasing impact feel. A new cavity structure is employed to save weight that is then strategically redistributed.
MAIN FRAME: This technology, incorporated into the back of the face, works by varying the thickness across a pattern of grooves and channels. This design is engineered to maximize the face flex at impact, contributing to increased ball speed.
High-Density Tungsten-Nickel Weight: A high-density tungsten-nickel weight is placed low in the body. This positioning achieves a low and central center of gravity, which promotes high launch and optimal energy transfer.
Increased Face Flex ("Soft" Area): A new groove is positioned in the lower portion of the sole to reduce rigidity in this area. This creates a zone where the face can flex significantly, amplifying the launch and speed.
Energy Loss Suppression ("Hard" Area): The rear section of the body is designed with increased rigidity. This firm area acts as a stable brace, ensuring that the power generated by the flexing face is captured and efficiently transferred to the ball, preventing energy loss.
