Satin Finish with a Raw Face
The New Yururi Rupas Wedge has got some serious spin while still complying to the new 2010 groove rule. The extra spin comes from having a non plated “flat” face with grooves that reach the maximum tolerance allowed on Tour.
The idea is when a plating is applied over the face it dulls the grooves while a non plated face is sharper producing more spin. Another attribute of a raw face is feel. The ball touches the softer forged carbon steel directly instead of a plated surface.
What is Seida?
Seida means 精 precise and 打 stroke, The Original Seida Wedge was recently reproduced for what could be it’s final run. It’s an awesome wedge with mill marks on its face, minimal offset and Fantastic soft feel. The name RuPaS means “Rule Permitted And Spin” because its new rule conforming.
The Grind is Forgiving, Very Forgiving! I’m playing the Seven Hills wedges right now and those have thinner soles which sometimes give me fits in the bunker. The RuPaS 60 I’m testing is a dream in the bunker as it’s sole is on the wider side with just the right amount of heel edge relief to get er open.
I can see this wedge suiting a very wide range of player. I have a spot open for a final wedge and the RuPaS 60 is going to fill it.
The Black face frames the ball especially well which in my opinion gives golfers more confidence for a precise swing, the grooves are pretty sharp scuffing up balls at times but the result makes the shred totally worth it. Both the RuPaS Seida and the Original Seida are currently available as head only.

they have such an interesting ad concept and i like the thought that went into the names.
I have had a rupas 52 for three weeks. Face is completely rusted after one early morning round, finished face is pitted with rust and black paint on labelling is worn off. Great playing wedge, but the finishing quality is poor indeed.
Hi James, The face afterall is RAW. It is not finished. So to say it has poor finish quality is inaccurate as it has no finish. Any raw wedge needs to be maintained, ie kept dry and moisture removed. I have a set of 52 58 that I have gamed for 12 rounds. The faces barely show any rust at all. For anyone who wants a low maintenance wedge, a raw wedge is not the way to go. Yururi chose the raw face for the Seida to increase spin as it has conforming grooves and some people actually want the face to rust for spin purposes. I don’t so I keep the face wiped off from any moisture.

I understand the issue with the Raw face very well. My complaint centred around the pitting in the finished face (either side of the Raw face plate) of the club and the poor quality of labelling. Thanks for your comments and time.
