Yonex Ezone Fairway WoodsThe new Yonex Golf Ezone Series has been selling like Hot Cakes here at TSG, most notably the Ryo Ishikawa 380cc pear shaped driver and the new Japanese Forged Miyagi designed Ezone Wedges.  The feedback has been outstanding, customers are loving the ability to order head’s only of the entire Yonex Ezone Series from TourSpecGolf.  We just received our demo clubs of the new Ezone Fairway woods.  In the same box was the utility woods and at first glance I thought the FW was a UT due to it’s head shape.

Yonex Golf USA

There are two models of Ezone Fairway woods the Ti – Titanium and the ST – Stainless Steel.  Ryo Ishikawa put  the ST in play so I requested the demo in stainless and I’m happy I did so.  I hit these today for the first time at the range.  It has a soft spongy steel feel to it that was very rewarding.  It actually reminded me of the old Callaway Steelhead Plus fairway woods in that sense.  It’s body is produced of SUS630 and it’s face of 455 maraging rolled steel.  The 18* and 21* have a high strength carbon crown.  Now I’m sure most of you will be purchasing it head only but if you do opt to go with a shaft its the Yonex USA Rexis line.  The Japan version comes with the Tour AD DJ but the price is much higher.  Later this week I will preview the utility woods and hopefully later a full review + video.

yonex are pimpin for sure! have the irons, and the ryo 380.
what is the difference between the Ti and ST face? i would think
    the Ti would be hotter?

cannot wait for an in depth review. really love the shape!

Can’t wait to get my 13 deg ST head!!
I already have a DJ7S shaft ( pulled from my 380 ) waiting to be installed.
My 380 now has an Attas 7S which brought the trajectory down a bit.

why did you opt for the ST over the TI? also how are you finding your 380?
got a quadra on mine but never gamed it on the course.

I wanted to get a13 deg head… Ti does not come in 13…

The 380 driver is awesome! I am in love, but I am still in the process of tuning
the head/shaft combo. Really enforces you to get a nice impact at the sweet spot.
Head itself is not that forgiving. But when you hit the sweetspot, it is so rewarding!!

As for my 380cc 9deg with the Japan stock Tour AD DJ7S , for my 105 to 110 SS, the shaft was a bit weak. As Tatsuro says in the video, I think this shaft is best for someone with about 100mph SS. The trajectory was too high for me as well.

I re-shafted with a ATTAS 7S …. trajectory came down a bit and dispersion is tighter perhaps due to the lower spin compared to DJ7.
This 380cc head is giving me on average additional 5 mph on head speed ( some times up to 10 mph !! ) compared to when I swing my “Japan” Edition Geek LB130 + Bassara Griffin TS combo. ( I am thinking the smaller head has less drag ?? ) The ATTAS 7S is being tipped now to adjust to the faster SS. We’ll see how it goes.

Also FYI, just found out from Yonex USA today that they actually have 8 deg heads for the 380 and the 420. Since I really love the 380 feel at impact so much, I am thinking about getting an 8deg 420 head and combine it with a Bassara Wyvern for those days I want to go all out!! :)

Finally got my new ST 13 deg head last week!! Shafted with a DJ-7 S (tipped 1 inch)
I was initially worried about the 13 deg loft since I have been using a 15.5 deg Ping G15 until now. Surprisingly, the Ezone ST 13 deg was not any more difficult to hit than the Ping G15. The feeling was soft and sound is very solid ( much better than the G15 in my opinion) So far, I have nothing but good things to say about this 3 wood.

As for my Ezone 380 , the Attas 7S has been tipped 0.5 inches. and Wow!! I never thought half an inch would make this much difference.
Trajectory has come down to just where I like it…. and the shaft feels a bit firmer to where it feels perfect for my swing. The club definitely feels perfectly dialed in.
Now if I can just swing with more consistency , I’d be a happy camper!
