Wanted to show you guys one of Master Masayuki Sasaya’s recent custom mod putter jobs. This time its based on the center shaft Rossa Spider putter. The customer wanted an internal weight adjustment and asked Sasaya-san for a double bend. The putter is also to be refinished and stamped with G mark engravings to add to its special and very custom flare.
The head was heated to break the adhesive bond. There is a bolt that needed to be removed in order to get into the head itself, An air compressor was used with heat to push the putter apart from the inside allowing the sole plate to be removed. I will post images of the finished product in just a few days.
Following that Master Sasaya bead blasted the putters main supporting frame and was now able to cut the neck then fabricate the new double bend connection. It should look fantastic when all is complete. It’s the very first G mark TM Rossa putter he has produced.
Master Sasaya has become the #1 putter tuner in all of Japan, I would have to go as far to say the entire world. This sort of thing isn’t even done for the worlds top players and that in my opinion is where these adjustments would be needed the most.
