Taylormade R9 Supertri Titanium Fairway Wood Spy Pics!

Pictures have surfaced in Japan of the new Supertri Ti Fairway wood for Japan. We don’t have much info on the club yet but as with previous JDM Japan Domestic Market Taylormade models like the R9 Max Ti FW, Burner Ti FW, r7 Ti FW, they are releasing a Titanium model for the Supertri. As always cost will probably be higher for the all titanium model over the standard stainless steel head.

EDIT: When images of the R9 SuperTri Ti began making the rounds on the internet, we speculated that it might be the new Japan market FW. This made sense as TM Japan has typically always released a higher grade Ti model for the Japanese market. However as confirmed by TM Japan and discovered by many golf enthusiasts, TM Japan had no plans or intentions to release the above club and turns out those heads floating around are not from TM. Please stay away from these heads if you see them on the internet as they are NOT a Japanese release or a TM release for that matter.

    I bet I can hit 290 yards from the fairway with these. I already hit my R9 TP 3W 260 from the grass

    I own a supertri 3 wood with a myazaki shaft in it, and it is very light. Even though it is light it hits straight and far! I definetley recomend one of these.

    You can find these on ebay!

    Your Message Hi Yes I am getting a 3 wood and a 5 wood in this head from ebay. Any suggestions for good shafts to match these heads. At present I have an oban devotion in my super tri driver. What about a bassara griffin?

    Love the Chinese for developing this club all on their own. Bought a set to see if they where real and took them up to TM Carlsbad. My buddies in the R&D dept laughed as they are aware these are coming out of Guandong. They say it is a descent club but they have never and have no intention of making such a club. 2 apparent signs it is a fake the yellow of the ti is not their yellow too dark does not even match the real weight yellow markings and the riser in the middle of the T in Taylormade would never make it to sale with a blemish like that look closely even @ the pics the paint has metallic flakes like glitter not the std paint. Its cool got all my money back just owed the boys @ TM a few beers for the lesson.

    @TMSD:

    Thanks for the info and confirmation. As I had noted on our forum as well, TM Japan also confirmed a while back that they were never going to release a SuperTri FW. We thought they might be prototypes but I guess they are Chinese prototypes. (^_^)

    Doesn’t help you cause any, though, eh? Makes people very suspect about where you get your information and products for TSG.

    Not really, as I wrote in the post here, we didn’t have any info at the time, we only found pics floating around the internet.
