Taylormade Ghost Putter Poll: Would you Sport a White Putter?

Ghost White Taylormade Putter ReviewRecently at TPC Sawgrass David Dusek of Golf.com covered more of the new Taylormade Ghost Putters coming in June.

The entire idea behind these new white putters is contrast for the player against the green.  The entire outline of the putter and it’s alignment aid should become very visible and easy on the eyes from above.  This is a very interesting concept in my opinion and it shows promise. There is some truth to the fact that a white putter has little to no areas that take the golfers attention away from the leading edge.

White Taylormade Putter

The Ghost putters will be released with the AGSI+ insert in black and red along with a 160.00 retail price and  a June Release date. I’ll shoot straight here, the design concept seems very good but this is something new for most players.  Most of us have never even thought of using a white putter so It will be interesting to see if this trend can stand the test of time. I know I am partial to black but still curious to see if my putting improves with white.

My Club Refinish guy just brought back my Rife Barbados Putter that he painted White for me. We went down to the Putting Green and what they are saying about the contrast of the White on the Green surface is right…..easy to line up and very pleasing to the eye. A KEEPER and in the Game Bag.

ZEBRA came out with white and black mallet putters at least 25 years ago and sold a pile of them. I have one in my car. What’s the big deal?

The topline has always been my alignment point. Clearly seeing it can be a problem. When I came across a Nike IC 20-10A with its bright white, topline I painted a couple of putters the same way. Never thought of the logical extention — the whole head in white. My first attempt at that is a very old favorite, and deadly, Spalding TPM 7 (same shape as a Wilson 8802 or Scotty Napa). Couldn’t be happier with it. Now it’s even more deadly!.

I would game a white putter, especially now that they have it in a Maranello heel shafted mid-mallet.
