The Taylormade Burner TP Limited Edition!

The new Burner TP Iron is a Limited release only available in Japan, the design was produced per the request of both U.S & Japanese tour players seeking professional performance and accuracy.  The prototype of the Burner TP has already six wins in Japan and features a thin topline and more shallow cavity design.  Another great feature of the new Burner TP is that it has a thick forgiving face and an almost straight neck drastically reducing the amount of offset versus the original model. The sole is constant instead of progressive so that the Tour player can rely on each club in the same manner.  All of these aspects were demanded by Taylormade professionals and advanced users.

The head has a new stunning dark IP smoked finish and the back cavity features a material to enhance feel to match the preference of tour players. The standard shaft is very cool as well, it’s an original color design decor for Shinobu Moromizato  “Tour AD AD-75 Prototype”.

Shinobu Moromizato officially put the new release Burner TP ironinto the bag at the recent Sankyo Ladies Open 2009 and mentioned that its very easy to hit and workable from side to side, the Distance control is great and I appreciate the performance and control of this new model.

when will these be in the pro shop?

It looks like these are the “B” heads that were released in the US. or at least very similar.

Just when I am all convinced that the Burner forged with Bassara shaft would be my next set, now this. This would makes live more difficult. I already love the Tour AD 75 but wonder the difference with this 75 prototype (hope they come in R flex.)

This JDM Burner TP head looks terrific. The cavity is still a little busy for the purist but then again you can’t see it when you are over the ball, right? All the key issues like the consistent sole, minimal offset, and thinner top line put this Iron into the Players category for sure. Couple this Iron with a top tier shaft and it will become a keeper. The USDM Forged Burner is already a winner and I bet this JDM Burner joins that sales parade.

Cast or forged? I guess cast since they don’t advertise it as being forged, but I seem to recall TM having made very good castings with an almost forged feel before.
I like the finish though, and I don’t mind my clubs looking a little high tech!

    More pics please! ;)

I’ve added the new Burner TP to our pro shop. They indeed do have minimal offset and a thin topline. A more classic loft of 27* for the 5 iron and aimed at the pro to low handicapper. Hopefully I’ll receive a demo in the next week or so to test out.

They are available as well for custom shaft from TM Japan as noted in the listing here:

    hi

    Please help.
I absolutely love the new burner irons and would love them in my bag.
Tourspec are the only place to help me.

i live in ireland and cant get the new burner tp here. i could order the R9 TP europe model but just dont like the look of them.

I am upgrading from the R7 TP irons Dynamic Gold S300.

The probrem i have is they are 1″ longer and 2degree upright.

I could order from the site the standard irons but they wont suit me.

Q1 Will i be able to get the burner irons to suit my spec? If i could only get 1″ longer i would be happy.

I know that the standard 2010 irons are in huge demand.

Q2 When will TM japan start the custom program on these irons.
I was wondering if in the future(over the next few months)that i would be able to order a set of customs on the site.

Please help would love these clubs.

please can u confirm if this is possible in the future or present.

    Thanking You
    Derek Furlong
