headThis one is a bit different from what we usually post, but considering the fact that it’s the U.S. Open right now, well, it should be if Mother Nature would just stop weeping giant tears of rain all over the course at Bethpage Black and let the players play!  That said, as he’s done in the past for the vast majority of Major Championship Tournaments, Scotty Cameron, Titleist’s resident Putter Genius, has designed a new commemorative headcover for the U.S. Open.

WWII Fighter Style

By the looks of things, this might be my favorite one he’s ever designed.  As you can tell, it’s designed to look just like the World War II fighter planes, and even has the sharp teeth of a Spitfire, and his logo on one side.  On the other side, another classic image of WWII planes, a pin-up girl.  Bottom line, this is one cool headcover and seems to be an amazing commemorative piece for this year’s U.S. Open.

$72 From Scotty Cameron

The good news is, if you’re interested and want a piece of this year’s hugely delayed U.S. Open, you can actually have it.  Word is that it went on sale yesterday at scottycameron.com.  The bad news is, you’re going to have to shell out $72 if you do want it in your bag.  Small price to pay for a piece of history, right?  If any of you DO happen to buy it, send us in some photos of you using it, we’d love to see it in the wild.

U.S. Open Resumes Play Tomorrow

In the meantime, keep waiting until tomorrow morning when the Open finally resumes play.  Well, that is if Mother Nature deems it appropriate.
