Round 3 Rolls on At Bridgestone Invitational

WGC_BridgestoneInvThe scores haven’t changed all too drastically, the leaderboard has seen little shake-ups, but the play is just getting better and better at the Bridgestone Invitational.  Round 3 looks like it’s picking up exactly where round 2 left off and and we’re even seeing the very same men battling it out for the lead.  Tim Clark and Padraig Harrington are going back and forth and currently both men are in secure position, tied for the lead at -8.  The best news for both men, they have a full four stroke lead over their closest competitors, one of whom is already in the clubhouse at -4.

Tiger & Phil Off Their Best Games

Glancing around the scoreboard it’s easy to see that the Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson we’re seeing at this tournament are not the same golfers as when they’re playing their best.  Tiger, currently at -3, is just not playing the same smooth, confident golf he played to take home the Buick Open last weekend, and Phil Mickelson is sitting on a +3 for the round, after posting first and second round Even pars.  Can either man turn it around and give both Harrington and Clark a run for their money?  As for now, it looks like Phil is most likely completely out of contention, but only being a stroke off second place, we might see a late charge in Round 3 from Tiger, or a Round 4 score to put him back in the hunt.  You can never, ever, count him completely out.

Conditions Ripe for Scoring

Conditions on the course are reportedly ripe for scoring, but so far we’re not seeing a lot of golfers really taking it to the course and playing well.  J.B. Holmes is a bit of an exception, in the clubhouse with a 3rd Round 65, he’s got to be wishing he didn’t start this tournament with a 70 and a 72 or else he might be in a lot better position to make a run at the leaders.

Tune In, Perfect Saturday for Golf

Nevertheless, it’s getting good and the conditions are just getting better and better for low scores, so if you’re not watching now, you should be.  Tune in, enjoy and have a great Saturday!
