Olympus Pen Lite E-PL1 Camera

I took an Olympus E-PL1 with me for a walk the other day. It’s a nicely designed interchangeable lens camera at a very good price point especially since its been out a while. The E-PL1 uses Micro Four Thirds lenses, a mount standard shared by Panasonic and their Lumix G series as well as Olympus’s Pen series. The E-PL1 is well known for it’s color and I have to admit the colors are superbly vibrant. I shot with the Panasonic Lumix 20mm f1.7 lens which actually has a view of 40mm thanks to the sensors 2x crop factor. I’m very happy with the picture quality, the smaller sensor does equal pretty sharp pictures and the results are very good. It also features very awesome built in art features and of course can be fully automatic if need be.

Check out some of the pictures I took with the Olympus:

    Tario, you take some really nice shots! And I’m not just saying that to win irons. I promise!
    What do you use (which program) to edit them?

    They capture mood very well. A lot of even pro photographers, get so caught up in the do’s and don’ts, they completely miss out on the most important aspect; creating a mood/story with the photography.

    @Rob:

    Hi Rob,

    I shoot in raw with all the cameras I use. Typically aperture priority mode and then post process in Lightroom with small tweaks like contrast and saturation.

    I love how you include higher-end digicams in this blog. It doesn’t hurt that the quality of your finished photos is “high-end” as well ;)
