Miura Giken CB-1008 w/ Custom Grinds Galore!

When it comes to JDM golf equipment few companies have a following as strong as Miura.  They were one of the very first to come on the scene and TourSpecGolf has been selling Miura products from Japan since 2002.  That’s right 15 years now we have been making people happy with these beautiful clubs.

The bottom line is they stand true to what we here at TSG stand for as well.  Made in Japan,  Quality, and Performance. Today I will be highlighting a very custom set of CB-1008s from the factory that will be listed in the TSG ProShop shortly for sale.  Follow the jump to read on!

I’m going to start with my most part of these irons the view from address.  We ordered these irons with the absolute least offset possible.  While this is really cool to internet people it’s not the smartest thing to do in terms of performance.  The offset is a good thing and it must be one’s kryptonite to order this iron reduced like this.  To be exact we requested +2 onset for these.

For those who are familiar with the CB-1008 take note of the top line. The top line is thinnest they can do at the factory in Hyogo.

Next up is the face shape and toe,  this is very different than the retail offering as its a lot sharper.

The sole grind has both leading and trailing edge relief.   This makes it great for the steeper decent player and helps the club sit more narrow.  Hard to see the grind difference in these photos due to the light.

The stock CB-1008 has had mixed reviews on TSG.  We have been selling it since 2015 when it was first released in Japan.  In its original form people who sought after forgiveness enjoyed it while what we call the athlete player felt it launched higher than other Miura irons and was a little large with too much offset.  Can’t please everyone but with the customizations we offer and as shown in this set here anyone can be happy.
