RomaRo Driver Golf

Of all the brands at the 2016 Japan Golf Fair if I had to pick one that excited me the most it would be RomaRo,  technically they were not at the golf show but like every year past they set up a conference hall across the street for their own invite only mini show it’s a smart move in my opinion they get to spend time with the accounts and dealers they want to see and focus on expanding their business vs a public showing of the line up.  So yes RomaRo is my favorite brand of the show and after the jump you will get a good idea why…

DSC01843-Edit

Years back RomaRo introduced the RAY series it was an instant hit everything about it from look to performance and feel was done right,  since then they released some really great products just geared toward different segments of players well now I’m glad to say an entire line up of RAY series clubs has arrived with much needed advancements and further evolution to an already great series.

RomaRo Drivers and Woods

I’m not going to get into the details on materials or specs in this blog post,  these products are all new so a lot of that information was not disclosed at the company preview but we were allowed to get up close and personal for our photos just not allowed to swing them yet.   The new 2016 RomaRo Ray Driver is for the better player,  it appears to be a full sized 460cc head yet doesn’t look large at address at all,  it’s size is hidden very well with it’s deeper face.

Japan Forged Drivers

At address it’s one of the best looking drivers I’ve seen,  not bulbous or overly round but just right to the eye with what looks like a square face.

RomaRo Ray Drives

The details and finish are done right lots of attention to the small bits and a focus on quality is apparent.

Ray V Type R Forged Irons

My favorite thing at the entire golf show period,  the RomaRo Ray V Forged Iron!  It’s a forgiving and forged cavity back that I would recommend for low to mid cappers,  now I have no hitting impressions to back this up but based on how RomaRo products perform and how this one looks I don’t have to go too far out on a limb to say these will be a hit.

RomaRo Forged Irons

I give the face shape high marks it looks fantastic and below the minimal offset and fairly thin top line make it obvious it’s for the golfer who seeks a touch more forgiveness than a blade or a small players cavity.

Type R Irons

Forged + undercut  I suspect it will also feel good like most RomaRo clubs do.

RomaRo Sports Japan

One of my favorite things about the new Ray-V Forged is the pitching wedge as seen below,  few brands can touch this look.

The cut away is still on the sole.

The Ray V Fairway wood is for the better player as well it comes in black and silver finish.

It’s pretty short heel to toe with a face a little deeper than most.

address is compact and square faced.

RomaRo Ray V UT is another release on hand it too looks to be for the low to mid capper.

DSC01795-Edit

It features a semi shallow face height.

Great unique shape at address that reminds me of a pear.

Next what the Ballista,  those new to RomaRo need to know they make insanely good driving irons and one of my favorites was the Chapter 2 hybrid just all around a straight and easy to hit club perfect off the tee box or fairway.  The Ballista is really a unique design with its PRGR like scoop in the back.

DSC01886-Edit

It’s got a low CG point yet strong loft to help it go long yet still have help in getting it airborne.  It’s a players driving iron and a rather neo one at that.

Ballista is actually a series of clubs with a 501 Forged iron and it’s even more compact than the Ray V.

DSC01851-Edit

nice undercut with a killed leading edge on the sole.

DSC01867-Edit

The Ballista 501 has a near perfect face shape.

DSC01856-Edit

thinner top line and a little less offset than the new Ray V.

Great looking short irons and wedges as well.  Next month TSG will be able to take these in course or the range at the very least,  it’s an exciting time to be a TSG member and a RomaRo fan!  I hope you enjoyed the photos.

The Romaro V Ray is stunning.  Did you get a chance to test them?  I checked the shop but nothing new for Romaro.  Are they not released yet?
