Honma Golf just released a putter kit that allows you to change the shape and color of your putter in a breeze. The Honma Perfect Switch Putter gives you a variety of options, your first decision is between two choices of shafts one is a plumbers neck style while the other is a double bend mallet type, the second is your desired length and the third is a bit overboard in our opinion but its the option of a gold or silver face + neck.
With todays adjustable clubs allowing the golfer to customize their game it was only a matter of time until putters got into the mix. Let’s face it sometimes you want to switch clubs or heads depending on the golf course’s conditions or how you are feeling on a particular day. With Honma Golf’s Perfect Switch Putter, now you can customize your club to make it perfect for every occasion.
Control & Feel:
The I-35 piece is similar to an anser style design from the future, it’s bright red color may be distracting to some but the alignment factor is much better than average in my opinion. The design is more geared toward faster greens giving the player enhanced sensitivity. Extra weight on the toe widens the sweet spot as well. The center of gravity depth = 11.5mm while the MOI = 3,500g-cm2. A shallow center of gravity gives this model excellent maneuverability and a great feeling on impact.
Stability & Balance
The D-39 piece included in the set is designed for extra stability and increased visual aid during setup over the anser type I-35. It features a deeper center of gravity and an even weight re distribution from heel to toe to help you roll the ball better and decrease distance loss on missed shots. The center of gravity depth = 15mm while the MOI = 3,900-cm2 Designed for perfect stability this mallet makes setup incredibly easy.
Stability & Roll
The T-42 model attachment is designed with MAX MOI with a deep COG. Its alignement and forgiveness are it’s main attributes. The site line and graphic aid helps the golfer gain better orientation and the T shape helps as well by providing a smoother back and fourth stroke. We suggest this model for slower greens or longer puts due to the distance loss reduction during off center hits. The center of gravity depth = 16mm while the MOI = 4,200g-cm2. Designed for perfect stability this mallet makes setup incredibly easy.
The Face is pretty cool too, it’s an insert that features a very fine milling somewhat similar to what TSG members call PZ Face Milling. I was able to hit all three variations of this putter at the 2009 Tokyo Golf Show and it does do what it is intended to which is reduce skipping and skid while improving feel at impact.
