jack-nicklaus-1986If you know anything about us, you’ll know by now that we’re absolute suckers for Top 10 lists, countdowns, or just about anything where there’s a clear winner at the end.  That said, when we found out the Golf Channel had picked the top 10 golf rounds of all time, we were more than just a little bit excited to peek in and find out exactly who they picked, and why.

Watson Makes Us Remember Great Rounds

That said, they picked some seriously amazing rounds, and there were a few on there we were not at all surprised to see, but others popped up that we have to be honest and admit, we’d never even heard of.  Nevertheless, it’s great to take a trip down memory lane, especially after watching Tom Watson almost make history by being the oldest person to ever win in the history of the PGA Tour.

The Best Rounds Ever…

Without further ado, here are the top rounds of all time, according to the Golf Channel:

  1. Jack Nicklaus, Final Round 1986 Masters
  2. Johnny Miller, Final Round 1973 U.S. Open
  3. Arnold Palmer, Final Round 1960 U.S. Open
  4. David Duval, Final Round 1999 Bob Hope
  5. Davis Love III, Final Round 2003 Players
  6. Hubert Green, Final Round 1977 U.S. Open
  7. Annika Sorenstam, Second Round 2001 Safeway
  8. Ken Venturi, Sunday at 1964 U.S. Open
  9. Babe Zaharias, 1954 U.S. Women’s Open

There you have it.  I have to say, the pick for the number 1 best round of all time, I couldn’t agree more with.  Considering the fact that in his round at 1986, Jack Nicklaus was 46-years-old and still managed to pull a final round 65 out of his bag for the win.  Amazing and we just got a taste of how impressive play like that is with Tom Watsons brush with greatness.

Where’s Tiger?  Agree or Disagree?

So, who do you agree with, disagree with or think they need to change?  Any rounds up there you think don’t deserve it?  Anyone think Tiger Woods is missing?  Sound off!
