Thought I’d make a post showing the latest work of art from Gold’s Factory.

Master Sasaya at Gold’s Factory is known for doing everything by hand. Nothing is mass produced and much of the work is “freestyle” including much of the milling and all of the grinding. Lately many players have opted for bringing the weight up on their putter heads, for two reasons really, a heavier swing weight for faster greens and visual appearance/cool looks. Everything down to the weights are done by Gold’s by hand control on the lathe. Inserts of all sizes and beveled edges and different thicknesses and materials are produced.

You can see a small example of the orichalum weights being produced on lathe here at Gold’s Factory:

Now on to the new putter he just made. It’s a one off modified putter and the base head is a GF00A SUS303 head.  It is a quite a job involving the insertion of 23 yes you read that right, 23 inserts ranging from,  Tungsten, Orichalcum, German silver, and Anodized Aluminum.

As you can see from the images above, there is some pretty complex cutting involved which took a lot of planning and careful work by hand. The face was premium zone milled first and then the insert positions cut out, many of them overlapping one another. The original head weight was 340g but once all the cutouts were made the head weighed only 234g! Much of the planning was not only to make a cool looking weighted insert putter but to make sure the positioning of the weights and inserts kept the head properly balanced.

Here’s a look at the putter unfinished from other angles and with the sole engraving done:

Gold’s Factory has just finished putting this putter together and I don’t even have the final specs yet but most likely the head has gained back the over 100g lost in cutouts plus more. Once I have the final specs I will definitely post them here. But  in the meantime you can see the finished putter here and contact me by email or through the golftoimpress.com contact form if you need more details or want your own creation made or modified. (this putter is also for sale)

That is amazing to me the weights are depersed. Beautiful putter. Does have screw in weight versus solid being the same weight feel the same?

Usually I’m not attracted to how putters look, but, wow.

That final picture with the 2 different views of the putter just look right. Not sure what it is but it really fits my eye.

That’s pretty amazing how the club head is designed and built to accommodate the different weights, and that the weights are of different materials. I don’t know how anyone could make such an investment without spending time to get fitted for their particular stroke. This seems like the pinnacle of customization.
