The Breitling Chronomat B01

Breitling recently released its new Chronomat B01 watch which has gone under the knife for a major face lift when compared to previous years model.  Breitling a brand known for Aviation geared watches releases the new Chronomat B01 with the deep sea diver in mind.

The first thing you will notice is that its not as gaudy or loud as other bling bling Breitling watches, they appear to be using a more modern approach in their designs as you can notice from the new era font numbers located on the bezel.

The Options are Endless

the options are endless. The Chronomat B01 is available in four versions including steel, steel with a gold bezel, steel with a two tone bezel, and all gold. Other features include diamond polished hands, square grid patterned zone, and quarter hour markers on the bezel.  The leather strap can add a trendy spin while the Pilot bracelet keeps things traditional.

This is Breitlings very first in house mechanical chronograph movement The new movement has a column wheel, a vertical-trigger mechanism and a power reserve of over 70 hours. The watch features a patented mechanism for auto-centering of the reset hammers and an exclusive index regulator system that allows the watch’s timing to be customized to the wearer.

have to say this has got to be the nicest looking Breitling I’ve seen so far. It’s a redesign of their popular Chronomat model, and it’s got some very attractive features.

The first thing that jumps out is the bezel, it’s been redesigned and now features engraved numbers instead of just lines. The face is slightly different as well, looking a bit more refined then the basic Chronomat model. The biggest change however, is something you’ll only see if you look through the mineral crystal back, and that’s the new movement. Breitling has decided to produce the movement for the Chronomat B01 in-house, and it shows. I’ll admit I’m a fan of mechanical movements to being with, but this new Breitling is something to behold. I’m hoping that they continue with this and make more and more of their timepieces with this movement.

The B01 is simply one of the best and most noteworthy timepieces Breitling has ever introduced.

I special ordered the base model with a black face and dials and decided to add the roman numerals in chrome to give it a more gothic modern feel.
