NuD Ghibli Driver

Introducing the NUD GHIBLI Driver and as I can imagine most of you are saying “What is NUD?”  Nud is part of the Baldo and Baldo is a Japanese Golf Brand that has been around in Japan for almost 10 years known for producing some very cool and stealth looking designs from drivers to putters.

Nud offers 2 different designs of drivers this new Knight Driver that is available in conforming or non ready to see more pics?  Follow the Jump…

Nud Golf Clubs

The Ghibli Knight is 445cc’s and comes with a square face angle,  the lofts are offered anywhere between 10-12* ( TSG offers hand picked heads )  Standard head weight is 196g.

The Ghibli is designed for low back spin and a mid-high trajectory,  it’s face is semi-shallow made of a heat treated forged titanium cup face which is the way to go as they always feel great at impact and produce more RBI.  It’s sole design is very dark knight like most of Baldo’s drivers stealth and also similar is the weight ports that can be adjusted to increase or reduce head weight using Nud/Baldo tungsten weights.

The weights and wrench are sold separately in 2/4/5/8 grams and considering it’s 196g standard weight you can get it much higher,  the 2 weight ports represent the ability to adjust the draw bias from nothing to something and the upper larger weight is to position the CG more forward,  it’s a thoughtful design putting both weights together like that so one would use the lighter weight in the upper port to reduce spin and lower the ball flight.  One negative is they do not sell or provide the wrench and when asked why they said why charge 40 dollars for a hexagon wrench that costs $5 from the hardware store.

Face profile is shallow at the edges semi deep in the center,  I was able to test this for a few range sessions using the Basileus AAA 60 Stiff and the performance is phenomenal partially for shaft but the combo works the spin is indeed low and the launch while upper it’s not high at all again a trait of this shaft but it’s got the same great feel as Baldo’s 911 series drivers yet more forgiving, rounded, slightly larger and a higher launching package.

Feel at impact was rewarding thanks to a forged cup face,  it’s a not all that loud or hollow and from address it looks 460cc even though it’s 445cc  ( smaller than the Jbeam Blackout 435 by 3cc’s )  Light-Soft-Metallic was my experience of it using some fairly new callaway range balls and a wooden tee.

Distance is up there with the best of them,  fit and finish on the Ghibli is very nice and the trajectory was medium high penetrating with plenty roll ( this shaft does this )  I wasn’t swinging all that great but fortunately that allowed me to test bad shots and what I noticed is the face was very forgiving on the heel and high toe but not so much low toe,  if the players miss-hits are high or low on the face that extra depth or buldge helps,  our second club tester  carries a 110+ mph swing,  while he over powered the shaft and the club head was too high a loft for him it was very long he noted and felt really good impact.

Nice address,  very sqaure face and right about where I like my drivers to be in size,  TSG does offer this head only or with a custom shaft so feel free to email us at [email protected] to discuss your custom build or checkout the TSG ProShop listing (Here) for more information.
