We’ve seen a recent comeback of smaller volume driver heads with the emergence of sub 400cc heads from both Yonex and Tourstage selling very well in Japan this year. Not to be outdone or left out, PRGR has decided to release a limited edition iD395 driver which is, as you probably guessed, 395cc in size.  With a shallower and shorter center of gravity, the smaller head is suited for stronger and faster swingers looking for solid feel and a lower and more penetrating stable trajectory. This conforming head is currently in play by top PRGR pro Hideto Tanihara on the Japanese tour.

The iD395 is a high back compact head driver forged at Endo with an ELF Titanium face and a KS100 Ti body. Realizing that athlete and better golfers demand an exact fit, they have decided to offer the 9 or 10.5* iD395 with upgrade shafts only built to customer specific length. Tour AD DJ-6 and DJ-7, ahina 60 and 70, Fubuki Alpha 60 and 70, and Motore Speeder VC6.2 and 7.2 will all be built within 6 days of customer order by PRGR’s SO service (Special Order).

PRGR will only offer 600 pieces of the driver for all of Japan and begin taking orders next week. Please email us as always if interested.

Interesting the trend to go back to smaller heads again. Only a few years ago the USGA was scrambling to limit the size! I am sure we are going to see more of these reductions in the coming months.
