The long awaited totally new designed driver from Epon, the Epon Monster Beetle or EMB has finally been announced. Epon has spent the entire season developing a new high MOI driver that would push the envelope for distance and forgiveness. The EMB and its uniquely forged hybrid body provide confidence and ballistics like performance. Epon's special forging process for the EMB creates high MOI fused with a very deep 45.5mm center of gravity for ultimate forgiveness enhanced by the shallow 50mm high face. The super wide face maximizes performance and minimizes distance variation. EMB = 460cc = 5500gcm2 = BIG IMPACT.
The EMB comes stock with a specially developed Tour AD shaft by Graphite Design Japan. This shaft has been tested to match up with the EMB head for optimal high MOI perfomance. The Tour AD for EMB shaft is stable and provides good feel and kick. Flex and swing speed suggestions are as follows (there is some overlap so this is to be used as a guide only) Regular = 78-90mph, Stiff/Regular = 88-100mph, Stiff = 98-110mph
The stock club plays at 46" in length and a D2 swingweight in R, SR and S flex. The lightweight Tour AD shaft features a low kickpoint for high piercing trajectory. The 9* features a square face, 10.5* is closed 0.5* and the 12* is 1.0* closed. Swingweight will vary depending on length chosen. As a guide, each half inch over standard will increase SW by 3 points and vice versa for each half inch under standard.

Following it's best selling Axiv and Axiv V series shafts, the X Series combines the best qualities of it's predecessors. The Axiv-X utilises it's 4 carbon weave to eliminate twisting, provide controlled stable bending of the shaft and optimal load and unload timing producing maximum kick for distance. The X Series has been designed particularly with larger sized drivers in mind and is a good match for the new generation of high MOI drivers. A common problem in golf is the driver head twisting on impact resulting in an open face especially when the shaft is under heavy load with fast and hard swingers. The Axiv X minimizes twisting of the head and stabalizes the shaft for pinpoint dispersion and control.
Some changes over the previous Axiv V Series include slightly higher ball flight thanks to a mid kick, even tighter dispersion through lower torque numbers across the board. Mamiya built the Axiv X based on the idea that any golf club will only perform as good as the shaft that is in it. The Axiv X is the new generation for maximizing club head performance. Please not that CPM numbers in the chart below are not good indicators of the shaft's flex. They are raw numbers with no grip or head and uncut with a 7" clamp. Installed CPM will vary depending on head, grip and length used.
Made for the tour level or hard hitting scratch golfer, the Tour AD P9003 is the ultimate kicking shaft for the super fast swing. For those looking for ANTI ballooning and a lower piercing trajectory this shaft has been designed with input from several top JPGA golfers and is currently in use by many pros as a prototype on tour. Built to handle the fastest swing with feel, kick and tight dispersion. Graphite Design claims this is the shaft for 112-125mph tour type swings. Available only in X flex at 80g with 2.9* torque and a mid kick.
Graphite Design introduces it's new lightweight design SL-5 Tour AD shaft. This 57-59g shaft is designed with optimal rigidity distribution in mind. The SL-5 features balanced, stable performance and easy load and unload characteristics especially geared towards slower swingers to help them obtain max distance. A special sky blue like finish was applied to the SL-5 for stand out color. The Sl-5 features a low kick point for optimal distance and the following flexes and approximate finished CPM at 45 inch club length:
R2 - 78 - 85mph 225cpm
