Miura Giken introduces the long awaited 2013 CB-1007 Y-Grind Irons. It is a "Special Grind" model by Miura, designed with the input of PGA tour player KJ Choi! Like many of the other Miura line up, it is geared towards the players and is made to the highest standards. It is forged of s25c and places an emphasis on feel and control.
The Y-Grind features a higher toe and heel area compared to the standard CB-1007 model, to enhance the feeling of the head wrapping around the ball at impact. It has a "boxier" appearance compared to the overall rounded design of the original head. The exterior border of the cavity has also been made 1-2mm thinner, which has moved the center of gravity closer to the heel. This helps prevent the toe of the club from shutting down, and has made it easier for players to control the club face at impact and work the ball in both directions. The leading edge of the sole has also been ground out to create great flow through various lies. The bounce setting has also been precisely picked out by Mr. Miura to create the most optimal performance specs for each iron.
The goal of this model was to provide the advanced players with a head that will appear slightly larger at address for added confidence in pressure situations, while keeping the same compact design for unmatched workability.
Miura irons come with a hosel size that is slightly smaller than a standard .355 to prevent rusting. It will require a slight bore before installation.
The Y-Grind is a special Japan Only model!
