I've been a tried-and-true X100 guy for a long time...

And then I got a set of Callaway X-Forged irons with the Project X Flighted in them.

I'm definitely a hitter, in the 120's driver swing speed, and I ordered them with 7.0 flex. I was a little nervous they'd be too stiff since I've shortened my swing and smoothed my tempo out a little recently, but they are PERFECT.

I'll still pull and push my fair share of shots, but the biggest difference is that they just go on a line when hit. Hardly ever put more than a 5 yard draw or fade on them. Just fantastic. And while I've always been pretty handy with a 3 iron, the Project X 7.0's have turned my 3 iron into a real weapon off the tee. Just amazing. I see why Sergio's been hitting his irons so freaking far now...

Anyway, was worried that the flighted would hit the ball too high, but they're fine. For me a definite upgrade over x100's, but it probably depends on your swing and the flex is obviously crucial.

I also have been doing the X100 thing for many years now. I still don't know how willing I am to try and go with Project X (probably 6.5's if I did). I dig at the ball pretty good and just recently made a swing change which has flattened out my flight and dropped my backspin rate significantly. Anybody think the PX would be a good switch? I play 2-P and have had a hard time controlling 5 woods and hybrids. I am a fairly good ball striker in my long irons and have no reason for changing away from 2, 3, & 4 iron setup anytime soon. I hit my 5 iron right on 195-200 yards and have a driver swing speed between 108-112 mph. Any performance differences people think I might acheive by moving toward PX?

I would love to know some advice, on what the best lower budget shaft is that I should get in America. I swing pretty hard, and I'd love to know what would best help me. It just seems overwhelming that there are SO many options, SO many brands. Granted the best are going to cost more, but what about the ones that aren't so expensive...who's the best of the rest?

I currently hit Rifle Project X 7.0 tipped an extra inch. They ball feels great coming off the face but I hit the ball way too high, and they are too soft. I am looking for the best quality, heaviest, lowest launching steel shaft available. Strength, speed/distance are not an issue. What kind of beautiful feel tour quality boards are available? I saw Dynamic Gold Tour Shafts in an X7 flex on the internet, now I can't find it. Has anyone hit these?

Thank you for your input!

Well I had the Nippon Modus 3s installed in my Onoffs and have hit them on the range twice. Early thoughts are very smooth and get the ball up quickly. I need more time before I can make any conclusion.
