probably :) the problem with custom grinds is its one thing if you custom order specific grinding if you know exactly what you want or work with the guy directly to figure out what you need then it doesnt get any better than that. if however you buy a set made on custom order to suit someone else and pay a premium without knowing if its gonna fit you thats probably a bit mad.

A friend of mine has a set Of Don White customs, they are awesome but they were made for him. If you order a set made for you you have something great. If they were made for someone else not so much.

i just bought those set of cally x- protos last week with the kbs c taper proto shafts
i stil havnt hit, hopefully tonight!
boy i gotta tell ya these are the most beautiful irons.
they have that small , thin neck shape i love like the yammies.
dying to see how the c-tapers go. they look unreal, like aluminium no steps

Ive got about 6 sets of DW grinds....all of them are when DW was with Macgregor.....It is certainly a hit and miss thing with those irons......I only like one of the sets but it is my all time favorite of all my irons......I only know of the grind as the lee Janzen or Aaron Baddley (sp) grind

Yeah Ernie used to play rifle 7.2s and im sure Phil is whacking 7.0s......Pretty tough to overpower but plenty good if you have a nice rhythm.....Ive got a set of 7.2 rifles in my TM x-300 FCI and they feel fine....Haha but my gamers are a set of s56 with regular flex KBS......I guess my body didnt get the memo about shaft flex and variation

The first protos are between the tours and the C-tapers, more like a stepless tour but more stout is what I understand. Steve Stricker is still playing them. I hope you like them but they are different than the C-tapers.
