In 2006 & 2007 I bought two TaylorMade XR-03’s on eBay.

I’ve spent a great deal of time trying to figure out if one or both are fakes but I’m not an expert on XR-03’s and I need your input.

One is from Japan and the other is European.

A few differences.

Japanese XR-03: Doesn’t have a serial number. Stock TM shaft is fatter at the grip then tapers. (Note: Clubmaker cracked the original ferrule on this XR-03 when he pulled the shaft).

European XR-03: The head is larger, has a serial number and registration reminder on the shaft but the paint fill in the 10.5 has started to fade and the black paint doesn’t extend down as far at the hozel.

Tried the magnet test on both heads and it wouldn’t stick.

Photos below - the club on the left is the Japanese XR-03.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
