  • What's in the Bag?:
Vega Raf-CM blades 4-pw. Srixon forged Z-uti 2 iron. Callaway hawk eye titanium 4W with Superio Shaft. Tourstage X-drive 703 with Crazy LY-02 Xstiff. Vega DAF with Miyazaki Kusala Black 72X. Rife 2-bar blade. Oakley Bag.
I recently started playing with a VEGA blade set, and it's going really well. The PW is truly excellent, so much so that I go to it for shots that usually would call for a 52 or more..I get great results by kinda opening it up a bit, the bounce seems perfect for me.

Anyway, I have three Rupas wedges at 52, 56 and 60 and they now look huge compared to my PW, was wondering if there is a model that would blend in a more seamless manner with the rest of the set? Most wedges are rather big in size and now that I play a blade iron set, they feel almost a bit clumsy..?

Yes the Rupas will look rather large compared to the blade PW.

I was playing a round with Tatsuro Oshimoto TSG Club Tester and Pro Golfer and asked him to write a few words on the MB5000WA.

Miura MB-5000wb Wedge Review

The MB 500WB wedge by Miura is very simple and clean looking, like any other clubs they produce. This wedge has a long neck, thin top line, and a very compact head. It is a true players club. The head is smaller than most premium wedges on the market today.

This wedge is one of the softer feeling wedges today, but you do have to get used to looking at a slightly smaller design. Out of the fairway, every shot felt very soft and gave me immediate feedback. One thing that I did notice is that on full shots, I was hitting this wedge about 5-8 yards shorter that other wedges with the same specs. (If you’re not worried about that extra few yards, this wedge is great for feel.) As far as spin goes, I did not notice a great amount of spin. The ball was stopping pretty well on the greens, but I think it was due to the soft forging and design of the head. I noticed that the ball came off very soft, almost floating off the clubface on full shots as well as shorter shots around the green.
Out of the rough the compact head design worked very well. It cuts through the heavier grass with no problems while getting the ball to land softly on the green. The wedge worked just fine out of the bunker, but you may have a bit trouble on finer grain sands due to the lower degree of bounce.

Overall, As I mentioned, this wedge does go a bit shorter that the rest on full shots but it's accurate, feels great and has a nice compact setup.

Thanks for the heads up! The miura looks compact and clean indeed..Was also eyeing the Geotech V2 and the ezone wedges, they also look a bit more compact.

The Ezone is no slouch. I just think the Miura feels so nice and soft.
