Ok, I have successfully reduced my inner club ho in 2011. I bought the Titleist VG3's late in 2010 and they are my sole set of irons even today--big change from the 3-4 sets in days of old. I finished out my bag in the summer with a Ryoma Driver (now with a royal deco working well!), a 17* egg spoon and 19* Egg Ute.

Down to only two gamer putters and two rackers (a TP Mills handmade that I had done in 2004 with the birth of my daughter, and a 1996 Newport2 1/500 Cameron--back when bettinardi did the heads). The only other clubs, are a few random wedges. Pretty good for a guy that used to have 2 back up sets, two callaway club racks and two tour bags (Masters and Euro Ryder Cup) full. Now the racks and bags are empty taking up valuable storage space!

But, I digress....for 2012, I also am planning to go with a 1 sand wedge set up which is a reversion back to days of old with my old trusty cleveland 485 56* wedge. The cleveland is gone, worn out, but the one sand wedge is back. It seems to make decisions easy to have the one sand wedge around the green, I can lob it, drive it in low with spin, float it all with the same wedge.

So, this means I have a space in my bag and I am contemplating adding a 13* Ryoma. I love the Egg Spoon, but they don't offer a 13* in the new model. The old model is dreadfully loud. So, those of you that have the Ryoma fairways for a while now or have experience with both, what do you think of the Ryoma/Egg comparison on performance---forgiveness and distance? Is it too soon for a Ryoma fairway review? Still honeymooning?

My Ryomo F3 just arrived last week and only manage to hit it in the range last night. Here are my thoughts....

Address:
At address the F3 looks slightly close to me as compare to Egg but both are spec as neutral.

Face:
The F3 face is also slightly deeper compare to the Egg and for me easier to hit off the deck. (I can never hit my Egg off the deck)

Head:
The larger head volume seem to give it stability (and confidence) and the best part is no matter where I hit it on the face, it seem to go almost the same distance so the sweet spot is defiantly much LARGER than Egg. I don't' like the aerodynamic design of the Egg as it always wants to swing up for me and have cause me a few top balls in the past.

Launch:
Overall it's seem easier to 'launch' (almost no effort) with distance similar or even slightly further than my Egg Spoon. However not sure if this is because of the shaft? Egg launch a tad lower with much shorter carry distance but with more roll where F3 launch higher with more carry and less roll, which I like as sometimes I can't seem to control the Egg lol

However also note that the shaft plays an important role as my F3 is shaft with a crazy while my Egg is shaft with an Adila NV lol

Waiting for my F2 on a crazy FW80 7.4 ( thks to tario !! )........i think it get here around early Feb.

From what i read, its super forgiving, although i have not played the egg spoon. However, it prob most effective if you fit it with the right shaft. I am biased towards crazys - unbelievable distance & dispersion. Bot the F2 as my home course is tight & combined with my ryoma d1......hoping to chew up the par 5s. Currently play the TRC BBD Tour VS 14 deg on crazy sigma fw50......,great control, boring ball flight & reasonable distance ( ss 105, gets me 220 yrds off deck & 240 off the tee )......but if not very forgiving.

Also play a TRC 18 deg hybrid on crazy which gets 210 yrds, so hoping the ryoma f2 will add 15-20 yrds on my fairways.

I'll have my review up in a few days. Most customers who have given me feedback all say its very easy and very long.

I took a video of the sound compared to the egg as well.

For me, I don't know why so many people complain about the sound in Egg as for me it was quite Ok but for sure the F3 sound more solid.

I officially replaced my egg with the Ryoma F3..Its just so easy and I hit more fairways most of the time. Shafted this initially with DI6 with a plan to replace it with FW80 later. However, I've noticed that the DI6 is working very well for me so I'm not thinking of changing this setup for now..

Ok, received my F2 / crazy FW80 7.4 few days ago - have hit ard 100 balls on range & 2 full rounds, off deck & tees. Comparing this to my TRC BBD VS 14deg / Sigma FW50 7.7 which has 40 odd rounds under.

- super easy to hit, very forgiving & tight dispersion. Semi topped a shot and it scooted 200 yards, straight. If it was my TRC, it would have ran 100 yards & skwed off right. Point to F2
- sound is as T's review, feels hollow but solid ' twocked '. It personally takes some getting used to as the TRCs are solid crisps. Point TRC
- address, its huge but gives good confidence - almost impossible to work a draw. Tried & it just went straight or high hook. TRC
- ball flight......it flys off hot, almost effortlessly but climbs into a wall the last 30% and drops straight down. The TRC has a penetrating flight throughout. TRC
- Length - this was my biggest disappointment. Its a good 25 yards behind the TRC - 2 observations......the TRC draw obviously helps with more roll, but even for the carry, the TRC wins out. The F2 ball flight doesn't help......straight & promising in the first 70-80%, then drops straight.....not even a hint of spin.

I am definitely going to give it more time in the bag - say 10 rounds, so hopefully she starts performing. I bought the F2 for forgiveness & length, so far 1 of 2 aint so bad.......but the yard/ price ratio so far has not kicked in :-)......unlike its big brother D1s

Looks more of a shaft issue if its trajectory at the very end.

Probably taking some used to the shaft. Will give it some time & switch to the Sigma FW50 7.7. My ss is 105mph, so 7.4 / 7.7 should work relatively close unless the FW80 is high launch.
