Hi all : ) this is my first post so would like to introduce myself a little. I live in Bangkok and have been playing golf seriously for the past 5 years. My handicap is around 12-13, swing speed 96-100 mph and have smooth transition. My current drivers setup are 10.5 prgr 455/ cb 46 6.7 and 9.5 ryoma d1 v-spec/ bassara wyvern. I found that the prgr/crazy combo was the easier combo to hit, launch higher with slight draw, 270 max. The ryoma however is the longest of the two, best feel ever also for me : )
just recently order the Jbeam 425 head only and are in the process of searching for the shaft. From what I read on the blog, crazy 435/ TJ 46 combo seem to produce good result for players with swing speed of 96-110mph. And from what I understand, the Jbeam 425 have similar profile to the older version of crazy 435 correct? If so, I would like to try to find a shaft with similar profile to the crazy TJ 46 (a lower end version) to try, before I buy this crazy shaft.
Tario told me that the bassara wyvern, for example, is the lower end version of crazy royal decoration. The royal deco would produce more kick and distance with better feel, I suppose. So what is a lower end version of the TJ 46? any advice would greatly be appreciated, many thanks : )

Keep in mind that when I say lower end version of the Crazy it does not mean the Wyvern is not a good shaft. As I said the Wyvern has similar characteristics, lightweight, good feel and kick but does not use the equivalent in materials to the RoyDeco. The RoyDeco has even more feel and kick resulting in probably best distance and control in its class.
The Wyvern on the other hand is much more affordable and many have found success with it as well. For a lot of people budget comes into play as well.
As for the Jbeam's, the 425 and 435 are very similar and the 425 is more compact (for obvious reasons). Both launch pretty strong and have low spin.
If you have questions about J-Spec equipment or need recommendations or fittings, please send me an email at gocchin@tourspecgolf.com (email is best)

the 425 is a big , comapct head if that makes sense?
ihave a crazy black 80, original model in mine and will never ever ever swap that out for anything there is.
mine plays a litte lon the short side at 44 .25 inch but after a session on the range and i get used to the swing weight
i hit this a mile and a mile straight
theres no lateralmovement wit htis combo itss ole purpose is to clobber, and its much higher than the 435
that is crazy low.
if ur after he best combo for this head. just get the crazy shaft suited to ur speed.
T knows best go with his recco.

@ T, I agree since I'm currently gaming the wyvern with the ryoma. The cb 46, however, seem to enhance the prgr 455. Flight are much more penetrating while dispersion significantly reduced.
@ Supo, maybe I should just take the leap : ) I probably try the cb 46 with the Jbeam 425 first before deciding my next move.

What's the ball flight like in the ryoma wyvern? Isn't the v spec low launch anyway? I'm intrigued by this shaft.

Against the ahina and the cb 46, this shaft seem to produce the highest launch. Whats interesting is that it made this head much easier to hit for me personally. I'm a swinger with smooth transition with ss around 95-100 mph. Right now I'm trying to experiment with different shafts that have similar bend profile.
