  • What's in the Bag?:
Vega Raf-CM blades 4-pw. Srixon forged Z-uti 2 iron. Callaway hawk eye titanium 4W with Superio Shaft. Tourstage X-drive 703 with Crazy LY-02 Xstiff. Vega DAF with Miyazaki Kusala Black 72X. Rife 2-bar blade. Oakley Bag.
I saw a very nice looking set of blades in BKK today, the Macgregor MT pro B..They are 1025 forged steel, and I was wondering if anybody knows where they are forged?
I also saw a special promotion for the new MacTec stuff, and I was surprised to see the HUGE difference in looks, materials, models amd also price between the MecTec stuff and the US Macgregor line..I mean, they might as well be 2 totally different brands, they have NOTHING in common. I know we have the Cally, titleist japan only stuff but the difference here was ridiculous! And the MacTec line seems pretty upscale here in Thailand, whereas Macgregor is a rather "cheap" brand internationally.

If I'm not mistaken Macgregor Japan, aka Mactec, has the license to design and produce their own products. The Mactec driver was the number one selling driver in Japan before finally showing up in the US under the NVG (2?) line a couple of years later

Not really "classic Macgregor" but great products.

Macgregor is now only "cheap" because it has been bought out by Golfsmith. Similar to what happened to Snake Eyes.

As stated on Mactac site, all clubs are now made in Japan (forged and cast) and they are great product with good value. Don't know anything about the US Macgregor line.
