  • Brand of Choice:Bridgestone, Vega, Rife, Miyazaki

  • What's in the Bag?:
Vega Raf-CM blades 4-pw. Srixon forged Z-uti 2 iron. Callaway hawk eye titanium 4W with Superio Shaft. Tourstage X-drive 703 with Crazy LY-02 Xstiff. Vega DAF with Miyazaki Kusala Black 72X. Rife 2-bar blade. Oakley Bag.
I recently got a news letter from one of the most respected fitters in Sweden, they sell Epon, Vega, Miura and so on. They were proud to introduce the "new" shafts Quadra Fire Express (I know, not that new on TSG!) and Superio. Superio is spelled just like this, not a typo, and is a bit of a "hidden gem" according to some. Its a full 50T shaft in several vesions, they aso have a 36T FW shaft. The swedish fitter charged insane amounts of money of course, but interestingly I recently saw these shafts at a local club fitter in Phuket/Thailand at a very reasonable price too, less than 300 US with fitting. The club fitter himself used, he switched fom an Axiv X and said the Superio was, well, superior, ha ha.

Anybody heard of, or have used this shaft?

Not much information here. Their website doesn't have much information including a good explanation of the differences in driver shafts. Looks like they have some success on lessor Tours. Interested though.

Clubs I can actually play, not think I can play. Put the ego aside to focus on improving my score.
It's not a Japanese shaft so I'm moving this to the tour issue usdm section.

It appears to have strong ties to Thailand?

Vegaman is it possbily manufactured there?

Considering it's 50t and a new shaft it should be superior to the Axiv X which is a 3 year old shaft by now. (^_^)

Interesting, I will try to find out where its made. I really thought it was japanese, must have misread the info on the shaft. I was thinking not many 50T shafts are made outside of japan, maybe thats why i rushed to conclude its MIJ.

It's possible the carbon could be sourced from Japan but the site doesn't mention where the shaft is made nor is there any sign of this shaft in Japan. At least not yet.

Anything you can find out would be cool. Thanks.

I will for sure, once I get back to Phuket I will go down to the fitter and have a look at the grip end, its usually written there. BTW Im in china at the moment, and MAN how can we be complaining about the price of golf equipment when the prices in China for REAL stuff is shockingly high, with a really bad selection as well. Feel sorry for my fellow chinese golfers, even if you are rich who enjoys being ripped off?

I got it! In this photo of the HM-50T Nano there is Made In Japan written very clearly on the shaft! Take a look:

Wow, I do feel a bit proud for "introducing" a japanese premium carbon 50T shaft to you of all people!

V, that's good to know but I wonder why isn't it offered in Japan which would be the best target market for a 50t shaft?

Wonder who makes it and what kind of weave and design it uses.

I'm going to ask around here in Japan.

I was thinking the exact same thing, MIJ, 50T and NOT offered in the Japanese market? Sounds odd. Or maybe it is just a newly launched brand that for some reason got its breakthrough in overseas markets first? Maybe even a rebranded shaft for outside Japan, but that seems very unlikely..Would be very interesting to know.

Edit: With the flame graphics and 50T it hit me that it might even be a brand from Crazy for the overseas markets? Could it really be so?

I highly doubt it would be from Crazy. They are a VERY small company and the would not bother rebranding their own products. They would just sell as Crazy as they are already well known by hardcore golfers overseas. Plus they would have told us as we have a great relationship with them.

Since the shafts are available in Thailand I emailed a few of our contacts there including those at endo. Several club makers are carrying the shaft and while its not confirmed, I've been told the brand has ties to Korea.

I also got offer from one of the pro shop but they confirm that SUPERIO is one of the top shaft in japan but I can't find any other information beside their website.
If anyone can confirm me that this one is a real japanese shaft or only just a fake Japanese with Made in Japan writen on that would be nice.
Why it s cheaper in Thailand? Make them there may be? The price here in Australia is more then Graphite Design.

Gochin, What do you mean by the brand has ties to Korea?
