Man, took me a while to decide even to read this post! Didn't know folks actually were making fake JDM stuff. The way I see it now, as far as forged anything goes, stick with what you know. If you don't know, ask. Also, dealing with a certified custom club fitter wouldn't hurt either. That's truly the way I found out about Tour Spec...well, he told me about golf wrx and found out about gocchin and you guys through them. :p

That's one reason, why I'm skeptical about getting any OEM stuff anymore. I mean, as far as I can tell, Taylor Made has the only true forged (made in, not assembled...) stuff in JP next to Mizuno...right? Heck, I'd play with Callaway's proto's if they were forged in JP (and if I could afford 'em. :p). Ever since I've been on the KZG bandwagon, I've been looking to see who else has forged blades in JP, especifically from th Keyoi plant.

Another thing people should understand about the JP market, is that the prices gocchin has on Tour Spec, are very competitive to what the have in other store in JP. I'll admit, I've tried other sources to buy real JP spec stuff outside of this store and gocchin's prices are on point. Even if you'd try to use those auction sites that let you bid on Yahoo JP or even Rakuten, you're going to be in the same price range...period. Yeah, you may find a deal or luck up here and there, but it's far and few in between. (Trust me, I've looked and continue to look..)

Pretty sure Cally X Proto's are forged in Japan and KZG is done in China....

It is kinda sad that fake items are mainly sold in and from china. I totally agree that counterfeit items are unacceptable however there are situations that people must understand.

In china the clubs are sold TOO expensive. I went to ShenYang China last year to have a game of golf in one of the best golf courses there, i saw the same taylormade Rescue club i have in my bag, and they're selling RMB 3000 for a stick! For rich people there in China that seems to be no problem, but for general folks who wants to play golf they can't even afford a stick, what to say a bag of clubs? My client bought a driver for RMB8000. The whole set equals to the whole year salary of normal folks.

I believe golf is for everyone, not just for the riches. Its unacceptable for counterfeit clubs, but its even more unacceptable and unfortunate for people making golf such an expensive sports, especially in asia countries!!

Clubs I can actually play, not think I can play. Put the ego aside to focus on improving my score.
Most Callaway Forgings including the X-Forged and Proto Blades and Legacy Forged and their forged wedges are not only forged in Japan but premium forged at Endo same place as Epon, Yamaha etc...

If you have questions about J-Spec equipment or need recommendations or fittings, please send me an email at gocchin@tourspecgolf.com (email is best)

I think you are right about X forged or X proto but my KZG CB IIM was forged in Japan by Kyoei.

Ok, I stand corrected then. :) I could'a sworn that I read that the proto's were forged in taiwan. My bad. At endo too huh? Nice. :) Still don't like the idea that I can't be fitted through a registered club fitter with them though. If you can, please let me know. Man to get some proto heads by themselves...heaven.

For the record, one or two of KZG's wedges are outsourced to either Taiwan or China. Everything else is in JP. :D

Yea the X-Forged was done by Endo, KZG for the most part is done by Kyoei. The former president of Kyoei quit and owns Vega and Distributes Matrix & KZG in Japan.

Another thing that irks me is clone golf clubs. They turn the taylormade burner into the Turner, Cobra becomes snake bite, R7 becomes Ti7, its another form of fake clubs IMO.

Just for the hell of it, where does Wishon get their stuff forged? Is it in the US or JP?

I don't understand why you would be surprised that JDM's are faked. Simple math tells me that a counterfeiter will fake an expensive club before he will fake a cheap club. Better returns.

Hi Shambles, Usually Japanese golf clubs are not faked because they don't have the mass market appeal like big popular brands.

You have a good point there though I'm not in a position to verify it. It's been a fairly long time since I've visited the golf stores in my part of the world for anything more than gloves, tees and new balls.

I really should look around again.

You would be surprised from what I have seen. I actually played with a Crazy T80 shaft that perhaps cost less than $100. The guy who owns it never heard of Crazy but bought it with a new fake R9 head in China for $150. Unless you are a Japanese club ho or a forum member here, you wouldn't have heard of Crazy. Right?
