Clubs I can actually play, not think I can play. Put the ego aside to focus on improving my score.
You know, many times I have had customer go buy elsewhere because they said our prices were too high and then come crying back to me when they found out the set of irons they bought for 1/3rd the price on our site snapped at the neck because they were fakes.

Today I had a customer email me and rag on me for our outrageous pricing. He said we had the nerve to create such crazy prices and even charge shipping.

I told him I'd be glad to price some clubs out for him if he told me what he was interested in and he gave me this link for a price match:

http://www.100yeartr...QJMTAyMjE=.html

This site claims R9 TP Forged irons from Japan.

No TP badge, those R9 aren't forged but they say they are, the SW has a 56* and S in the sole... and the company is in China... HMMMMMMMM

oh yeah the price is 265.00 with free shipping.

I guess I cannot blame customers who are not familiar with the JDM market and its pricing but there are so many things on that site that just give it away... I wish people would be more careful as I hate to see them throw their money away for a piece of crap fake club.

Sorry I just had to rant to people who I know would understand...

Hurray and a big "Attaboy" T for your Rant!!

I've seen first hand some of what you are talking about and it breaks my heart to have to tell the customer that the Gear he brought in is Fake. Counterfeit R9's are everywhere now and at prices that should SCREAM out to the Buyer..."I'm a Fake".

Also, in the area of Golf Shafts (both Steel and Graphite), I've seen more and more FAKES becoming available, so I would like to add them to your Rant as well.

T,

Remember the Crazy Black 80 I was telling you about? If you like, I can get it for you for $100 (I have to mark it up 100% for my trouble) direct from China but said made in Japan right on the shaft. People should know there is no free lunch. Since I am spending part time in Asia, I do come across many fake stuff and have actually play quite a few of theme for the fun of it. For those who know the JDM market and pricing structure, to be fair, TSG's prices is somewhere in between for North America and Europe customers but you are getting secure shipping and free 'consulting' service :tsg_smilie_laugh: otherwise you would not be able to get in Japan and such hard to get items as Golds or Kamui.

Just tell the guy to go buy at that site if they think they've found a better price.

Even the fake stuff in China is fake.

ive know how you feel. been a victim myself of some jdm heads that were supposed to be smuggled out of Tm china factory. everything is available even spider putters etc etc. they even have fake prov1s.

i was gaming a supposedly jdm driver 4 years ago for months not realizing it was fake. i was hitting it so long. only to realize that the color scheme was all wrong and voila. i bet things have gotten even more high tech since. scary!

Man, took me a while to decide even to read this post! Didn't know folks actually were making fake JDM stuff. The way I see it now, as far as forged anything goes, stick with what you know. If you don't know, ask. Also, dealing with a certified custom club fitter wouldn't hurt either. That's truly the way I found out about Tour Spec...well, he told me about golf wrx and found out about gocchin and you guys through them. :p

That's one reason, why I'm skeptical about getting any OEM stuff anymore. I mean, as far as I can tell, Taylor Made has the only true forged (made in, not assembled...) stuff in JP next to Mizuno...right? Heck, I'd play with Callaway's proto's if they were forged in JP (and if I could afford 'em. :p). Ever since I've been on the KZG bandwagon, I've been looking to see who else has forged blades in JP, especifically from th Keyoi plant.

Another thing people should understand about the JP market, is that the prices gocchin has on Tour Spec, are very competitive to what the have in other store in JP. I'll admit, I've tried other sources to buy real JP spec stuff outside of this store and gocchin's prices are on point. Even if you'd try to use those auction sites that let you bid on Yahoo JP or even Rakuten, you're going to be in the same price range...period. Yeah, you may find a deal or luck up here and there, but it's far and few in between. (Trust me, I've looked and continue to look..)
