  • What's in the Bag?:
    Ping TISI 10.0 w/ UST Proforce 65 R shaft
Mizuno Blue Rage Fairway Woods (15/18/21) w/ Exar R shafts
Mizuno FliHi CLK Hybrids (17/20) w/ Grafaloy ProLaunch HY R shafts
    Mizuno MX-20 irons (3-PW) w/ Riffle Flighted 5.0 shafts
Vintage 1963 Wilson Staff Dynapower Fluid Feel blades (2-PW) w/ Wilson Staff S-flex shafts
    Taylormade 300 Forged 5-PW w Project X 6.5 shafts
Mizuno MP Wedges (50/56/60) w/ TrueTemper Wedge flex shafts
    Ping Anser 2i Putter
I could use some help identifying a set of 5-PW TM 300 iron heads I just picked up. I originally posted over on GolfWRX and someone there suggested that they may be a Japan only set and figured I would ask everyone here for some help. The other suggestion was that these are proto heads.

They definitely don't have the sole and toe grind of the retail or Lehman sets. They seem to have the n.s. grinds on the sole before chroming, but no "n.s." or "N.S." etching on the hosel. They also don't have any serial numbers. The finish is a polished chrome.

They have a deeper pocket and heavier top line compared to the retail irons. Also, the toe is rounder and terminates at the start of the sand-blasted area around the grooves up at the top of the toe.

Any help is appreciated!

Below are a couple of pics of the PW and 5-irons.

Not Lehmans or NS.

Could be Miura Japan, but only way to tell is if there's a clear label on the original 5-iron shaft that says Made in Japan.

You could pull a shaft and lightly sand/scrape top of the hosel to look for copper underlayment.

Regardless, these are still great irons and compare with any of today's forged player's CBs.
