Best looking from address is most important, I like a squarish look.

Also, smoothest/best feeling, stable shaft? I swing anywhere from 105-115 with driver at max, I like to really feel the clubhead especially with irons, although I do tend to take a hit at it more than I'd like to. I want something I can stick with for a while and really develop my game. Looking for consistency and feel!

Thanks for all opinions and comments. :tsg_smilie_surprise:

I also own Tourstage Viqs ,z101's(1150's) srixon I506's(B golds) nakky NP1's (5.5 tfr's) all excellent for out and out performance type j.

The head choice is a no brainer Epon j shafts Ns BG or Tfr all play well with this head and rave reveiws on concepts.IMO.

If you are looking for a blade, the type j is not a true blade (despite Epon calling it their muscleback).......

good blades (based on my experience) include the MP 33 (difficult to get in new), xblade 2, fourteen Tb-1000, Mr 23 (slightly older, but a bit overrated by those who call it the best blade ever).....Miura blades (despite the welding stuff)....

the 1150s provide more zing... but I found the s400/x100/black gold also very appealing.... Increasingly, i am turning more towards the S400/black gold..

if you want blade like feel with cavity benefits...then the type J's could be the club..

I'm not completely stuck on ONLY a blade, but want something akin to one if not a "real" blade.

What are your thoughts on Miura?

IMO

There are a lot of excellent irons available.

You either need to be a millionaire so you can buy all the top clubs, or decide what it is that you want in an Iron... feel, forgiveness, looks, brand, etc.

Muira= excellent. at least two or three models
EPON = excellent
Mizuno = excellent - I played my custom set of MP60's today for the first time, I loved them.
Yururi = Excellent
Golds factory = Excellent
Tourstage = Excellent
XXIO = Excellent
The list goes on and on.

Next, the shaft....

It never ends... :tsg_smilie_surprise:

ALL of the top Japanese brands are excellent.

Decide what you want. Have the Irons custom built.. and you will be one happy camper. Don't look back, know that you are playing the very best Clubs in the world.

The custom build part... is what makes this site, all of these Irons, unbeatable.

I'll never be able to say enough about Chris and :tsg_smiley_crazy:

the miura blades and the cb 1006 are very fine irons indeed (i owned both, still have the blades)..... all the irons in my post above are good... (My only compliant with fourteen is the loft porgression. Its should be 4 degree seperation till atleast the 5 iron, if not the 4 iron...)

If you are ok with expanding outside a true blade... i will say the gd mbs are very good, the type J are reportdely what people who own them rave about ... the Cb 1006 is very good iron.....

type js are certainly the prettiest amonst the ones you mentioned. also seem like more and more are raving about it, not a true blade but you cannot go wrong with it.

How similar is the Cb1006 to the new 202 for U.S. market? How do they differ?

Most important to me is looks from topline, if it doesn't look amazing and just perfect and inspire confidence, I'm not going to play my best! Second to this is and VERY CLOSE second is feel.

Note: I'm not too much of a digger with irons, but I don't typically pick it perfectly clean either. I am somewhere in between there hitting descending on the ball but hitting it at about the bottom of my swing. I would say I err a tad more towards hitting down on it than on sweeping... but it is kind of a toss up.

The cb1006 irons have the thinnest top line of the cavity back Irons I have played. Looking down at them at address you could mistake them for a blade.

If I'm not mistaken the 202 is pretty much the cb1006 made and marketed for the US. Depending on the shaft they have an excellent feel.

I am always trying out different Irons.

But... When it comes right down to it, for me, nothing has yet to top the EPON J's with the black gold shafts for feel and consistency.
