I just tried the Sumo2 today, with R-flex and 13deg loft. For me the weak loft helped me hit straight shots with medium trajectory but disappointing distance. The R-flex felt too boardy for me. The high MOI is justifiably more forgiving.
Curiously I hit longer and equally straight with my Honma 400RF 3-wood which is an old model. The Honma shafts IMHO are superior to the Diamana shafts.
I'm saving up to complete my wood set with the Honma 400RF driver which on is still quoted at Euro 449.

I am assuming it is the North America spec Sumo2. Does Nike has different spec (shaft wise) for Japanese spec vs NA spec like the other major brands?

Yes the shafts of the Japanese market Nikes are different than the US spec models. Basically they're at least two flexes soft as far as I can tell. We put a Nike Sumo2 with a 'stiff' shaft on the work bench to test for frequency and it bounced to 235cpm. That's pretty useless for a better player with slightly higher swing speed.

i managed to get my hands on the reps only sumo to try.... they're not available in the UK until April. I cheekily reshafted it with an axiv v spec, and boy this became the best driver i've ever hit. I loved the feel and tradjectory, but more significantly, it went straight and carried a long way....
the bad news is that i had to give it back, but its going to be the next driver i get and with the v spec i reckon it'll be in my bag for a while....

There were two young guys at my local driving range last week with these square nike drivers, one had a yellow shaft, the other had a pink shaft. I didn't get to see either of them close up but both lads were hitting the ball well, very straight, decent trajectory, but not very long! This surprised me as one of the lads had a good, athletic swing and seemed to be very competent, shaping his irons and hitting targets regularly.
The noise was awful, that coupled with the sheer ugliness of the head means that this club will NEVER find it's way into my bag!
