A few of you may have heard about this driver coming out, for others here it may be news to you. There's been talk of it across the forums, I'm currently in the process of digging up some more info and pics for this new driver.

I had the chance to catch a glimpse of the Nike Sumo Drivers today. That's right....... Drivers. There are two Sumo Drivers. Sorry, I didn't have a camera with me at the store.......so no pics. But here's the low down from the representative and what products were shown.

First.......The Nike Sumo. All titanium construction with a Next Ti face. It will come out in November 2006, so the Nike SQ will go on sale shortly. It has the same power bow configuration as the SQ and the bright yellow paint/highlights. However, the arch power bow section is set back deeper and has a concave appearance........think of a little dip in the corwn like the Cleveland Hi-Bore. Retail price of around $300.00.

Second.........The Nike Sumo Squared. Titanium sole and Next Ti face. Graphite/composite crown similar to the Nike Ignite DFI. This driver is shaped like the SQ, but with a square power bow section in the rear. And it is loud. Retail price of $400.00. Release date of February 2007.

The next time I catch the rep, I will take photos.

The poster shows a composite top. So this must be the Sumo Squared.

It's the Accuform Whistler, jumbo version. For those of you who remember that flop.

Never really liked Nike drivers to start with.

Nike just seems to go from bad to worse with their drivers.

In looks perhaps, but in success that comment is far from fair. It seems to me that Nike drivers are very popular and have been very successful.
