I'm a bit of a purist....so the 905R with the pear shaped head and plain looks gets my vote!....and of course being able to batter the ball 300 yds is an added bonus!!!!!!

Until I can get a good demo session from an accurate launch monitor I won't be deciding any time soon.
Currently I am looking at the Cleveland Comp or the Mizuno MX-500 Comp.

I have been reading up on the KZG Gemini and have been very impressed but I cannot find any dealers around here! :tsg_smiley_question:

I have been having extreme difficulties finding a store or fitter that carries anything other than just regulars and stiffs shafts that are supplied by the manufacterer. I don't know where else to go, nobody is equipped to set up stronger players in the Philly area. Do I have to go private??
Anyway, those are my current choices.

HA haaaaa, Choice has been made, Picked up a Cleveland Hi-Bore XL Tour 8.5* after demo'ing with Taylor Made, Nike, Titleist, Callaway and then finally Cleveland.

Hi-Bore Tour spins the least, carries the farthest, rolls the farthest, is more accurate, feels the best, gives the best launch angle and is easier to work when needed. Hit this thing off the deck and was floored at how easy it is to do.

Her is how I got there:

5 weeks of Tour Van fittings at Golf Galaxy her in Wayne, PA started with TM first followed by Nike, Titleist, Callaway, and then lastly Cleveland. Immediatly a trend started to work itself into the fitting sessions the further I went along in my search for a new shaft and driver. This was positive reinforcement that I was not the owner of a disastrous swing and cleared me of being at fault. TM, Nike, Titleist, and Callaway all mentioned the same shaft for me to use but, the issue in every session was spin and this dictated which head I was going to buy. Nike was out of the running almost immediately, Taylor Made wanted me to do too much manipulation to the shaft and head in order to bring my spin down, Titleist was nice but I was hooking some and not getting what I expected from the D2, it is far better then the D1 but just not my flavor, dropped the driver and moved into being fit for 906F2 Fairway. Callaway was perfect in every facet but the spin was still to high. I was about to go the FT-5 Tour N route when Jocelyn from Golf Galaxy contacted me by phone and told me she scheduled a fitting session with Cleveland the next Saturday to try out the New Hi-Bore XL head. That Saturday came and I worked with Cleveland for about 15 minutes, right away , the rep threw a Hi-Bore XL Tour 8.5* head at me in a Diamana 83 X Blueboard, after about 5 cuts on 2 other shafts (VS Proto, V2), Launch was ideal with the Diamana but still needed some more stiffness in the tip, flight was piercing, spin was WAAAYYYY low (2100 to 2350), the accuracy was so close I actually started to laugh at how tight I was keeping my shot pattern, distance was unfairly long and forgiveness and feel made me believe I was centering everything that got in the way of the head. I could care less how the head looked, if it performed this well it was in my mind the finest looking thing since Jessica Simpson! I have had the new driver in play 2 weeks total on the Diamana Whiteboard 83 X and those rounds played have been the most positive and mentally confident rounds off the tee that I can ever recall. The best thing I could ever have done for myself was to demo with all the OEM’s to find what was right for me. This is the route I will follow each and every time I plan on fitting myself for clubs in the future! I wish all the other OEM’s the best but for me Cleveland has the best performing head in the Biz hands down!!

demo'ed these shafts:
Fuji HiBORE XL Red 70 X (stock), VS Proto 80 X, Grafalloy ProLaunch Red 66 X, Fuji Speeder 757 79 X, and the Diamana BlueBoard 83 X in all heads. The Diamana was the last shaft used at every demo with all 5 fitters suggesting that I specifically purchase a Whiteboard 83 X

Demo'ed
TM SuperQuad TP 8.5 - Real Long, Accurate, trajectory was to high, workable, Ball Spin was too high even using a head that was opened 2*
TM Burner TP 8.5 - Long Long Long, less accurate, workable, Ball Spin was too high..
TM R7 425 TP 8.5 - Moderately Long, accurate, workable, trajectory was decent, Ball Spin was too high.
Sumo Tour/SQ Tour - Unusable from the word "GO", fitting session lasted all of 5 minutes, fitter told me to use something other than NIKE. Best advice I got!
Titleist 907 D1 8.5* - Gave up after 10 cuts and moved on.
Titleist 907 D2 7.5* - Moderately Long, ok accuracy, workable, trajectory was lower than most, ballooned shots and hooked left more than normal
Callaway FT-5 Tour 8.5 - OK distance, accurate, workable, trajectory was good, Ball spin was lower compared to others.
Callaway FT-i Tour 8.5 - What distance??? Could fit this through a pin hole due to accuracy, spin was through the roof and for me is simply unplayable because I went NOWHERE off the tee!!
Cleveland Hi-Bore XL Tour 8.5 - Longer than all others demo'ed based on average drive and mis-hits, shot dispersion was insanely close, low ball spin (2000 to 2300 consistent), trajectory was 13* to 15*, side deflection was minimal, workability was easy, performance and forgiveness was top notch! Most accurate, longest, and low ball spin, prime launch angle, I could not lose!

This is why "I" went with the XL and of course "I" am different from everyone else and "I" felt this was the best head/shaft combo for me based on the stats and outcome compared to others tested.
