Sure they are not tour issue nor are they rare nor are they consideder players clubs, but the things are sooo easy to hit! I wouldn't trade them for anything. Its absolutely automatic with these puppies from any lie!

I've had a tour issue SHIII 4+ and it was a great club. Stupid easy to hit, nice and long. Only downside is when I'm hitting out of rough or under wet conditions, the lack of grooves in the sweetspot often creates knucklers.

i would agree, these woods are money. definately easy to hit and definately long. it makes absolutely no sense to me that people would not have one of these in their bags, simply because they are not rare and "a players club". if it works, use it. and the steelhead III woods work. for that matter, all the callaway fairway woods work. callaway definately know what they are doing in this dept. magnifico

I've had the Steelhead III 3+, 4, 4+, & 7 in and out of my bag since they came out. I found these the easiet to hit, very long and are very fogiving. The only thing, which probably goes without saying, is that the stock shafts stink. I've had YS-7 and Proforce in mine all with good results.
Plus you can pick up mint custom woods from callawaygolfpreowned.com or win their auctions on eBay for a $ong. |

You guys are right I love my VFT, however now that I'm actually hitting the slot with my swing the closed face on my 3 wood is starting to bother me. At first it was just a nice tight draw. I could still fade it if I really wanted to by holding the clubface open. I've heard the pro series actually has square faces so I might try one of those out.

Yes, the Steelhead III's are great. My favorite is the 4+ which is a go to club for me. Also have a 5 and 7 which I got on Ebay for few $s. Have been using hybrids but going back to fairway woods as they work.
