What are the things that you want from a golf shop?

Not the big boys like Edwin Watts, but smaller local or regional shops. If you could tell a store owner the things you want what would you say to him?

Number 1 would be affordable gear. Number 2 would be to allow me to demo any club I wish for more than one round. Number 3 would be a good club technician.

Knowledgable Golf Staff who are followers of the game and not COCKY about knowing more than always doubt your ability.

Good selection of all retail brand name gear.

Staff that don't act a like used car salesman and say "we can get you fit today, cash or charge??"

Precise Golf Monitor

Good Demo Program.

yes, shops that have prototypes and stuff, things that other golf shops don't have. Something unique and original. A wide selection, instead of just titleist, taylor made, and the bunch. Japanese imports would be nice too, like gauge and TS, stuff like that.

Like stated above...knowledgeable staff is a must. When I was in college I went into a shop in Knoxville TN with a grand in the pocket to spend on irons. I was dressed in blue jeans and a tee shirt and got no consideration form the 5 staffers. They were swarming the guy that drove up in a BMW with all the fixings. have them treat everybody that walks in the same. That will elad to a great reputation for customer serrvice. Just my 2 cents.

Well said i totally agree on that..... there are to many hooray henries who are to quick to judge peaple on the appearance or class,we are all equal on the course and thats how it should be.

My take on a good golf shop would be one that gives real TRUE advice so you get a product that actually suits the players swing and game play. And not just recommend the latest HYPED up models.

There is to many golf shops that just want to sell you the most expensive clubs in the shop.
these are the type of shops who dont want to share there knowledge unless your giving them money.
Generally these type of golf SALESMAN stand out like a sore thumbs. And should be avioded at all costs.

YET there is still a small amount of shops that do give TRUE advice and will help you anyway they can.But lets face it they are a dying breed as MONEY is what its all about as they have to earn their living.

Ive found that a propper club fitting session should have the use of a launch monitor.
To get the best out of all this modern technology. whats the point of have a $500 shaft in your driver if you cant get the best out of it??
Just my take on things

What's in the Bag?:
G-Field 8.5* GFT driver
G-Field 15* three wood
Tourstage 17*, 20* prototype rescues with proto NV shafts

G-Field NC-1 forged irons, 3-pw, with Prolite graphite shafts
Gauge Design 4th Anniversary MoCr CNC-F 52/56 wedges
G-Field Athletic Zone-Leap orange putter
Awesome black and white G-Field staff bag

Kind of like the Golf Marts, Roger Dunn shops in California.
1. Good club fitters
2. Excellent repair technicians
3. Take trade in's, any club no matter how old or what the condition is.
4. AND, a 90 day return policy, not questions asked.

I use to buy all of my equipment at Golf Mart until I discovered TSG, but I still get my clubs (from TSG) worked on there.
