l got this putter from about a week ago but wanted some extended time with it before writing any type of review. l understand that it was made for a Japanese tour player and was the prototype for the M2. l believe it is the only one in existence or possibly one of two. (l can't remember what Chris said!)

Visually it looks like the standard M2+ but without any graphics other than the Gauge logo on the bottom. In addition the putter has been drilled to take weight out of the center of the head and there are two tungsten ingots installed in the heel and toe area. It is visually stunning and the workmanship and attention to detail is as good as anything I've seen. This includes anything from Cameron or Bettinardi both of which make great products.

In terms of performance the putter is tremendous. It's face balanced and weighs 367 grams shaft length is 33.75. It came with red medium ion grip which has a great feel to it and is shaped very much like the Ping or Cameron grip that l normally use. This combination is perfect for me as l like a heavier putter and always end up putting lead tape on other putters.

Visually the putter sets up beautifully and sits very square. The three white lines on the insert really help with alignment. When the putter is struck on the sweet spot it's incredibly solid, although the sweet spot is small.

All in all it's easily the nicest mallet putter I've seen. Easily knocked the Newport 2 out of the bag for now. 5 out of 5 stars!
