whats the deal with these idiots yelling during a players backswing? i was hoping jerry kelly was going to jump the ropes and pound that knucklehead this weekend. its almost a contest every week to see who can yell "get in the hole!" 1st. i think the tour should have a spotter at every teebox and weed these morons out.

I think something like that is in the works. I was watching TGC the other night and they showed about a dozen instances where rude fans were making comments while players would be hitting their shots. C'mon, folks, this is golf, not basketball or football. If you want to yell rude comments, go see a football game. BTW, I think Jerry Kellys caddy handled that guy.

It is hysterical to hear these jack off's yell something and then immediatly clam up when the remark is noticed.

I am on the fence as to how they should react. I am not upset with DLIII's reaction at Accenture, I am not put off that J.Kelly didn't put a check on that big mouth.

C'mon, if you have the balls to say something, have the courage on the other hand to fess up to it, they are golfers for crying out loud, not UFC contenders!! Beer should not be sold at these events, period.

My wife thinks Golfer's are total wimps because they have to have TOTAL SILENCE when they are ready to play, then she berates me, "You aren't like that are you?"

"What if I was"

I don't consider it a job but If I did, I would like it to be just like that....QUIET!! I would be very bothered if some ignorent S.O.B was heckling me at work. I am playing the game as my future, If this is how I intend to feed and provide for my family, I will have no tolleration for that.

How would you like some one jabbing rude and insanitude remarks at you when you are trying to complete a very important medical manuever, or closing a large deal for your company.

If you go to GOLF tourny's with this attitude to heckle, I hope that they not only find you, but leave you with very deserving permanent impression ( a$$ stomping  ) in your mind to NEVER return.

Beer isn't the problem, the problem is lack of home training. The same people are some of the ones that post on the net with rude remarks.
Trust me on this, alcohol is a depressant...the people that are making the remarks and idiot statements would do that if they had a sprite. Some people are a-holes, with or without alcohol, moreso without.
Bottom line, the tour needs to toss people out of the event if they get out of hand, period. The back of the ticket reads "we reserves the right to refuse admission, and to remove those who cause problems" JDI = Just Do It. That sets the tone and then you don't have to worry about alcohol.

I agree with all of you guys, all that crap has to stop. Golf is definately not football or basketball. Its a game of integrity and honesty. The sad thing is that it seems like our sport is changing, geting a new kind of fan base. Although some may say that getting new fans is good and makes the game of golf grow, I don't care for this new breed of fans at all.

the funny thing is if more crowd noise was allowed the single annoying hecklers would be drown out it the white noise. For anyone who has played sports on a big stage knows how in a stadium everything blends together and goes unnoticed. It is so automatic to turn off your ears to those crowd noises but these little gibs that people yell in the back swing can be intolerable.

The animal kingdom can be to blame as well I have run into one heckling woodpecker in my day.

So the question the USGA or PGA, who ever handles this stuff, needs to answer is whether its easier to shut up the single hecklers or handle the prissy ahole golfers dealing with the transition.

I know I find it easier to play when there is a constant banter going within my foursome... it takes out that huge choke factor.

cheering is great, id like to see more "lets make some noise" like happy gilmore. im talking about the morons who purposely time their comments with the intention of causing a mis**t.

the tour should put snipers with tranq guns in towers at all teeboxes! then have a public caning after the trophy presentation.

Act like you have been there before. Show a little class. Shut your damn pie hole when someone is hitting! My two cents. I fully supported DLIII and Jerry Kelly's caddie in the way they handled the situation. If you are going to yell something then have the balls to stand up and say you didi or keep your trap shut!

I am down with the ;snipersmilie thing.

Ohhh!! who is that lying down at the Tee of the par 4 #15 Gary?,

Looks to me as though the Anti-Heckler option being considered by the PGA has arrived in the form of 7mm Johnny!!

Gary: Poor Sap, he's bleeding all over the Tee box, shoulda kept his mouth shut!!

If thats the only reason you are there, to heckle, do everyone a favor and stay home. Constant background nboise is one thing but any loud noise during a swing will throw off the swing.

There is no question heckling has no place in tournament golf. Let's face it, when one guy umpteen years ago said "Get in the hole" it was kinda funny. However, ever since that one time it's tired and annoying. Then there was the idiot with "Release the hounds" or whatever he was saying at Bethpage. Where is the joy in sounding like a complete A-hole? I'm down with the tranqing. Pick 'em off from 1000 yards, make it a competition within a competition. I doubt a sniper would pull a shot 30 yards off target from 170 out. The PGA could market a whole new "These guys are good" campaign.

these are the same morons who have to yell fore going past the course/range or sound the horn...it's what passes for an intelligence in small pea sized brains ...only difference is they can go home and say did you hear me yell on the 14th tee and make that guy hit his ball in the (fill in the blank).....tape their lips to the exhaust of a courtesy car and escort them home..........that ought to do the trick
