Anyone had this experience both me and my boss cant hit it straight with this club. we know the shafts are correct specs for us, the ball just starts left and goes further left. I missed 11 fairways today all left. Ive tried hitting big cuts with it and i cant make it cut whats going on.

Does it have a closed face? |

Not any more than usual about 0.5 to 1 degree which is common in this size so idont think its that.

How are you sure that the specs of the shaft are correct. If it's pulled left then it's your swing. If it hooks then you need a lower torque, possibly stiffer shaft. |

i had a "going left" day with mine yesterday. it was my swing though not the gemini. i tend to get lazy with my swing on occasion and dont rotate my torso enough, making my hands and arm take up the slack, the result is a ball starts left and continues left. my fault.

My experience wiht the Gemini is that everything goes straight. I can fade and draw it, but it's not all that easy.

It just seems very odd to me, i have used either an Aldila NV 65S or 652R for ages and never had a problem boss uses a 757X. Both of us hit the ball with a high fade only the gemini doesnt fade does it. the only thing i can compare it to is a cobra offset i pull hook them.

forgedcrazy,
the only cases of "the lefts" w/the Gemini that i've heard are from players whose swingspeeds exceed 120mph. ultra-high swingspeeds can cause the two faces of the Gemini to collide @ impact, which will send the ball way off line. jeff/clubfitters |

God bless all you Gemini fans out there but I had exactly the same problem as "forgedcrazy" - left, more left, and then further left. I HOOKED EVERYTHING!
It WAS a 395cc, 10.5 with a Fuji TR 27.3 (s) installed by Tour Tuned. They said the face was only 1/2* closed and I believe them but as soon as I put the head behind a ball I knew it was gonna be trouble. Some were high, sweeping hooks, others were quick snappers. I know my swing ain't texbook but the minute I went back to my LFE the hooking stopped and I was hitting my usual controlled draw. I can't explain it - maybe it's all in my head - but I no longer own a Gemini. This baby didn't even make it to the 1st tee! :? |

I wanted to try the latest, greatest drivers so I simultaneously got a KZG Gemini 10.5 with an Apache Matrix S-1 Mid Trajectory 45" shaft, and a Nakashima 420 with an Apache MFS 75 S-3 Low Trajectory @ 44". If anything, the Gemini had the "better" shaft, though the lengths were different. The third driver in the mix was my then "in the bag" SMT 455 DB with an AJ Tech Raw Gold regular flex at 46". I continued to hit the SMT with the usual results: very long, mostly straight, but with the ultralight shaft the direction sometimes suffered as it was hard to feel exactly where the clubhead was. The Nakashima hit about as long as the SMT, but was consistently the straightest by far. The Gemini was just very difficult for me to control. I tried different swingspeeds, more or less vertical approaches, shorter or longer backswings, but I just couldn't hit it straight. Hooks were by far the most common problem with that shaft/head combination for me. I sold it, kept the Nakashima, and have the SMT in the garage in reserve. (I had three seperate driving range sessions, each one with the same results, before I made my final decision about which one worked best for me.)

That might help exlpain things a little as according to Titleist the LFE is a club made for fading the ball. If you are drawing the LFE then you may have something in your swing that is very draw/hook biased. |

One thing that I've noticed with the Gemini 395cc's is that the faces look more closed than the 355's. Even if they spec the same, the 395's almost always look more closed. Dunno why that is, but it made me want a 355 for myself, not a 395. Robbie TTG |

If you are drawing the LFE then you may have something in your swing that is very draw/hook biased. You may well be right - I do noticably drop the club to the inside on the downswing. But the fact remains almost all off the rack drivers out there, with the exception of Tourstage, have closed faces. That's why a lot of guys whose miss is to the left search for driver faces that are square or a little open. You won't see many closed faces on "tour" heads. |
