What's in the Bag?:

Driver: Nike SUMO2 5900 9.5* (VS Proto S)
3-wood: Nike SUMO2 Square 3wd (Stock S)
Hybrid: Cobra Baffler DWS 19* (Aldila NV Hybird S)
Irons: Callaway X-20 Tour (PX 6.0 Shafts)
Wedges: Scratch Nickel 54* (w/ weight slots) & Scratch Nickel Custom Grind 60*
Putter: SC Newport II Pro Platinum
Ball: Maxfli Tour Fire

Looking for suggestions on what to replace the god awful stock shaft with on my driver. Its and 8 degree, and for the most part I'm happy with the ball flight, I just need a tighter dispertion. My last driver, a GBB 8 degree, had a Pro-Force 85 stiff in it and I hit that well. I'm a smooth tempo swinger with a clubhead speed of about 95-105mph with the ability to really reach back and generate some more if needed. My natural ballflight has always been a power fade with the common "fader" errors of either the dead pull or the slice.(seems to be happening more and more since college golf, maybe something to do with less beer and a real job?????) I value the opinions of you guys so I figured I pick your brains. Once again, thanks for your time and effort.

With your SS, probably a YS5 or 6, they go well in the Nike. However, I would wait a little while, buy the Nike Ignite and put something good in that.

THe Nike Ignite is an awesome club and their going for a pretty good price.

I have a Nike 350. I first tried the Fuji VP80, which is a great shaft for the money, I then switched to the GD Purple Ice and it transformed this driver into a long - long hitting, fairway splitter.
For me the key was trying a shaft that was softer in the tip section than what I normally play, since the Nike 350 is a low spin head.
If you want to play a lightweight alternative that is a softer tip, try the Grafallow Prolite Elite or the ProLaunch.

I'm not too familiar with the Purple Ice, but it sounds like thats along the lines of what I'm looking for. Whats the weight on the shaft? I take it thats what you'd recomend I put in mine?

I played a HK-Pro80 in the Nike 350...it was too soft.

Then I put a 757 in it...and it was just right. Not too much spin, and it stiffened up the felling in the head. I wish I still had that thing.

Side note: trying to firm up the feel on the Nike, a friend at I put a Bi-Matrix shaft in it and that thing ROCKED!!!! Very nice looking too.
