Is it just me or do other people think Dave Pelz ought to be ban the the TGC? I am tired of his constant infomercials. He just seems like a tired has been who is trying hard to hang on.

hes hard to watch, they need to add a sidekick to his show. when he starts one of his long winded explainations they should have someone run out and kick him in the nuts. then he can recover and get to the point. maybe id watch then.

;rofl

I would definitly watch... errr... well... hmmm... maybe not then again. I have a sneaking suspision that Mr. Pelz would enjoy getting kicked in the nuts a little too much to be called healthy. The guy definitly lost a couple of screws allong the way. I think my worst fear is being trapped in a room with him.

Pelz gets on my nerves...he makes the short game too complicated...he's made a lot of $$$$ though.

I know he means well but I think Dave Pelz should have someone else present the training. With him as the presenter and the ten minute infomercial at the start of the show, I'm just not interested in any of more of the shows. He has some great technical knowledge but he doesn't seem to have the qualities to make the subject interesting.

I really wanted to like these shows because I really like his books. He gives a great deal of information on the technical side and I like that. I've gone to his three swings/four wedge system and I've gained a lot of accuracy and confidence from 125 yard and in.

It can get worse you know ... being trapped with him AND his son for instance.

I don't like him. He turned a game into "science". His approach is completely blown out of proportion and too mechanically for my liking.

My Teaching Pro told me once one of his students attended one of Pelz's putting clinics. He came back utterly frustrated telling my Pro that 35 things are wrong with his putting stroke.

Read this Mr. Pelz: Give me a break! (pun intended)

I personally think he is somewhat of a fresh face to a "has been" peer group. Golf commentating is a difficult job I'm sure, but I'm sick of most of the on air personalities.

I know that Johnny Miller is rated as the best commentator, but I cannot stand to listen to him harp and critique the players and their ability. He is much to negative for me to listen to.

I prefer to listen to Gary McCord, David Fehrety....and Ben Wright...does anyone else remember the way McCord used to jab at Ben Wright. It was great!

Unfortunately now the commentators are too big for the game. They have a "know it all" attitude and they seem to have something to prove with the mic at their mouth. The best telecasts are put on by people who are more descriptive of the scene, rather than trying to make statements to make oneself look better. It's all to politically correct nowadays. But as much as I like The Masters, I feel they are the ones to blame. They have CBS so scared as what is ok to say, that it is infused all throughout the other broadcast stations. The USGA is another nitpicky organization that regulates their telecasts of US Open Championships too much with an iron fist.

Well, that's just my 2 cents worth. What does anyone else feel? To me Dave Pelz is bland, but he sure beats Gary Koch trying to sell some piece of crap driver to the masses.

well, I spent a couple of hours with Dave and his son, working on my putting swaping theories, he in person really gets into it, both of them are not much different in person, he really likes what he is doing, and when he focuses on you, leave no rock unturned comes to mind, I think what he is promoting lately this ten minutes thing seems to take 10 minutes to hawk his stuff, much to long, and its a little to much in your face, he means well but. I like it when they get him at a major and talk about the rough and the greens, he's much more intertaining than, JerryMB

McCord and Fehrety are the best people on TV. Everyone else just sounds like there dead. I wish they would get more time to talk other then just the 16th hole

Haven't seen Pelz lately, but he has given me some valuable insights and techniques that I use.
As far as the others mentioned here, I have to disagree with the McCord- Ben Wright banter. I thought they were childish high school stuff and am glad to see them gone. Ferrity is funny most of the time but does suffer from over trying at times, but I don't see where he offers much insight into game if thats what your looking for.

Pelz has found a unique niche for himself because no one else deals exclusively with the short game.
The problem is he's s-o-o-o analytical that after about 5 minutes I feel like my head is going to explode.
Anyone remember the feather-lite clubs he marketed years ago? Talk about a flop!!
Speaking of commentators, call me crazy but I always enjoy Peter Alliss. I still miss him on US Open telecasts. How many other people called Shinnecock a "niblick Nirvana by the sea?"
Steve Melynk is THE WORST.
And can the dopey commentators on the Champions Tour stop referring to it as a"golf ball" - we're aware we are watching a golf tournament - what other kind of ball would there be?

for bad commentators Curtis Strange has got to be on that list... well unless you hold stock in fortune brands... his constant plugging of Titleist equipment gets old.

The man and his son are very exghausting to listen to.

I cannot watch a whole segment, if he would just get to the point and not turn a 2 minute demo in a 20 minute "this and that" banter I might find something interesting.

I will just remember the idea of some dude bustin' out of the bushes and crashin his "BEANS". 8)

There ya go Dave, give me some detailed tips on how to recover from that hazard.

**Next on the Golf Channel** Dave Pelz tells you How to get up and down from a disastrous shot to the nuts. :D
