I have gotten over 20 emails today about Shingo Katayama's new Asics golf shoe he is wearing at the Masters and that I posted about on my blog.

They are brand new and have not gone retail yet.

We are already working with Asics on carrying them here.

You can be sure when they go retail in Japan you will be able to buy them from TSG in the Pro Shop!!

I'm down for a pair; PM me Gocchin when they become available (green). People are commenting all over the boards; I have mentioned Tourspec on at least two occassions. Not a fan of busy golf shoes busy these are sweet! Personally I think it's a huge marketing mistake (Asics that is) not to have these ready to ship prior to the Masters; look at the buzzzzzz.

A little off topic, but a little related as well: Nice to have Shingo doing well and sporting Dance with Dragons and On/Off gear as well. Great pub for JDM. Hope he continues to do well today. In fact, with Tiger out, hope Shingo does REAL WELL. Like, maybe . . . become the first Japan-born Masters champion, perhaps?

Okay everyone. Got some bad news.

Spoke to Asics and there is no scheduled release for Shingo's Asics in the near term.

The shoes he was wearing at the Masters were prototypes only.

I do not think they were expecting this much fanfare and attention.

Hopefully they will speed up the move for these shoes to go retail but from the sound of what they are saying it will not be for quite some time.

Nevertheless we will of course have them here when they do go retail.

A real marketing balls up I would have thought, very un Japanese like.
I do hope they are available in 'western sizes' I've tried to get some Japanese shoes before and they only go to size US10.5 and only in E and EE................... no wonder they walk like ducks!

From the picture Shingos name is embroidered on the white/wilver pair and I hope that TSG will offer the same service.

Is there any chance of getting better pictures of them from ASIC ?? Especially the back heel section ??
