No, but looking very much foward to your review.

I've been actually thinking of trying these shafts but I'm also wanting to try out the new KB wedge shafts in the smoke black color. So right now I'm between both and may have to give both a go in the next couple of months.

The Smoke Wedge Shaft by KB Tour is a true performer and is eye popping in appearance. The quality of the finish is superb unlike some other smoke shafts that are prone to scratching and paint chipping. I have installed alot of these KB Smoke Wedge Shafts recently (alot of TSG'ers, too) and to the man, they all praise the shaft. I have these shafts in my wedges now and can back up their claims. Good distance control and very accurate (especially when Pured/FLO'ed). I recommend the Smoke Wedge Shaft by KB highly. Sorry for taking this off the titled subject but felt compelled to toss in an opinion.

Goodsie
it would be great if you can start a thread on the smoke wedge shafts, how they compare and why they are better than the regular kb tours.
thanks

Well guys I've had the Nippon 125s installed in my wdges and I really like them.

It may just be me, however I can feel the shaft more during the course of the swing and I like the feeling. The extra weight in the shaft makes the head feel slightly lighter a feeling which I also like.

I've only played one round with the new shafts, however once these are dialed in I believe they will be very good.

For comparison purposes, which shaft did you have in your wedges...1150's?

I had the 1150s in my wedges, but didn't like the heads that much.

The 125 went into different wedges, but were also put together by a legendary club maker here in Aus.

Jack has been know to get the yips with his wedges, so I believe the heavier shaft has been beneficial.

I will keep you posted.

Hey Jack,

Any updates, still getting along with these?

How do these compare with the "tried and true" Dynamic Gold?

To be honest I've hit a couple of great shots with these since having them installed from both the fairway and the sand.

I think the combination of the heavier but softer shaft provides great feel. No problems hitting the ball either high or low, which I have experienced with other shafts.

I don't know the weight of S200 dynamic gold, however they feel a tad boardy to me and the S400 has no feel at all for me. The Nippon 125s feel more advanced in design, but just a feel thing.

It's probably phycological, however the heavier shaft has significantly reduced the yips with the short chips. I think the idea for me was to make my wedges heavier, same idea as using a heavier putter to help with the yips.

I would actually be interested to know what weight shafts the pros use in their wedges.

Highly recommended in my view.

Great to hear you're getting along well with these Jack. As an aside, I feel a heavier wedge is essential. Heavier in terms of swingweight. For me its in the lower E range where a wedge feels really comfortable and controllable.
