I recently bought a Tour Issue Titleist D1 7.5* with a Diamana whiteboard w/ ion finish. Driver is great..problem is I have only had it two months when the head just popped off..well broke off. I had a friend look at it and he said it may not have been installed all the way in..which is weird. But the shaft is done, can't use it again. I know that Titleist (retail) won't even touch it so I didn't even bother to call. I was hoping that someone out there has a contact with the Tour department/player that would be able to help me out to get it fixed.

I'll even go as far a trade the club for another tour issue..I know sometimes people will be more inclined to help if they get something out of it too (not to sound like a jerk)..but I've seen it. I paid a lot of money for this club and want to pass out everytime I see it sitting there in two pieces.

If anyone can help, I would be totally greatfull.

Thanks

Brand of Choice: Gauge Design/G-Field

What's in the Bag?:
G-Field 8.5* GFT driver
G-Field 15* three wood
Tourstage 17*, 20* prototype rescues with proto NV shafts

G-Field NC-1 forged irons, 3-pw, with Prolite graphite shafts
Gauge Design 4th Anniversary MoCr CNC-F 52/56 wedges
G-Field Athletic Zone-Leap orange putter
Awesome black and white G-Field staff bag

Just take it to a club repair facility and have them install a new shaft in it. They will drill out the broken piece of the old shaft and install any shaft you like. No problem.

While you search to resolve the Driver problem, may I suggest that you move the Diamana Whiteboard to your Fairway Wood. This shaft is terrific and will work well in your FW and from the description in your post, the shaft is already tipped for a FW. All is not lost on this shaft for a Driver even if you add an extension to the butt. The cpm's will not change drastically. The shaft will work fine with a little stiffer tip and will be only slightly stiffer in flex. Find a Clubmaker in your area and let him help you salvage your Driver.

On several occasions, clubs have come into my shop a for refit or repair only to find a poor shaft installation (not fully seated in the hosel) or other maladies which will cause the Driver or Iron to perform poorly, especially for the Fast Swing and this is why I get to work on it for the golfer who feels the pain you are feeling. This situation has occured more often in the Retail Titleist line...both Woods and Irons. I am not knocking the Titleist equipment, just the assembly. (Sic)!
