I have seen a huge number of golfers, turning up to a driving range with only 1 or 2 clubs (although I knew they have a full set in their bag), typically carrying only a driver and one iron.

I don't quite understand why they do that (they all drive to the range as well!!) becasue wouldn't that just limited their chance to play and practice on other clubs? Or they are just pure lazy?

I always bring my full set of gear, even thou I may only practice at the range.

So what about TSG' golfers then? What sort of gear you bring when at the range?

I almost always bring a full set, unless I've just received a new club from TSG and I don't have much time, then it just might be that club.

Usually however, when I do go to the range its for several hours and then its the full bag along with maybe another 3-4 clubs which don't see a lot of time in play. I will also bring along 2-3 extra shafts which I use as alignment aids.

However, lately I just prefer to play and don't see as much range time as I would like. Best scenario for me is when I've got 2 hours to warm up and then get to play 18 or even 36 which should happen now that the days are longer here.

Miura blades 3 or 4-PW S300
chikara 52*, 60* S400
Gauge Design Premium Zone #0

keeps changing every week...but in a match above is what I will play.

I only take one of my wedges and one of a 2, 3, 4 iron... and sometimes the driver. I usually am at the range only a few minutes before my round. But even if i have say 30 minutes or so, I still take no more than 3 clubs. After 10 minutes for putting, there is not much time left, so I focus on the chipping, the 50, 70, 100 yard wedge shot and then the 190-220 yard shot.... and of course the drive. those are crucial to my playing a good round.

Seriously, if you are hitting off mat, what is the point of bring the whole set since you would only be working on timing (irons) and driver (with those rubber tee). I am fortunate that my club has a full grass range (over 270 yards long) and a putting green, full bunker, chipping and pitching range that you can work with the whole set.

Sorry I really should have mentioned the club I been going to is very similar to yours, which offer putting green, bunker and a chipping range. That's why I tend to bring my full set.

That's the one thing I can't do however, is mats. Mats just ruin my game. If I can't hit off of grass I just don't do the range.

I bring the whole set, the place i practice at has a grass tee box so it is nice to really be able to hit shots not thinking you are. Now i also bring alignment sticks and a range finder to make sure the targets i want to hit at are accurate.
