I recently read a short story about Jack Nicklaus. He misses a short putt, and then a fan says to him, "Sorry you missed that one Jack." So then Jack says, "I didn't miss the putt. It just didn't go in."
So basically he was trying to say, how in his mind, he made the putt, but things aren't always going to work the exact way you want every time. What I got out of the story, is that I should try to always focus first on my mental game of golf, before anything else. I always see the ball going where I want perfectly, every time, before I make the shot, and when things don't work out the way I want, I simply move on to the next shot. Has anyone else noticed any true improvements, when completely focusing your mind? |
